Friday Favorites – It’s almost October

I can’t believe tomorrow is the first day of October. Where is the time going? I guess it’s time to pull out the pumpkins, gourds and Halloween decorations. (I know a lot of you probably already have.) I can’t get them out until the first of October because I kid you not, on Halloween night I’m so sick of looking at them and I have to take them down. 

I was in Hobby Lobby this week and you know I’m not even kidding when I tell you that they have Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations out.

Making new friends!!!

Tuesday night I went with these two sweet ladies to an event in the cutest little downtown area not far from where I live. You bought a ticket to it and then local restaurants had samples of some of the things they serve. You could eat along the way and stop in the stores to shop at the same time. It was a warm night and we had a lot of fun.

This adorable little store was one of the stops. It’s fashioned like an old timey (that’s a word, right?) store where you can buy snacks, a gallon of milk, etc… or ice cream. You can drive through or walk up.  We got a full size ice cream cone as part of the deal.

Are you familiar Nothing bundt Cakes?

Well if you’re not, you’re gonna’ want to change that.

This is a bakery that just as the name suggests has nothing but bundt cakes and they are quite possibly the best cakes EVER.

We became acquainted with them a couple of years ago. I’m not sure what there secret is, but a lot of recipes that claim to be “knock offs” have sour cream in them and that might account for the super moist quality. Then there’s the whole CREAM CHEESE frosting thing. You could put cream cheese frosting on a leather shoe and I just might eat.

And as if we need more of a reason to stop in there, when you go in they have samples of different cakes.

Katie and Kent like to go in and get samples even if we aren’t buying any.

My new favorite color of nail polish for my toes for the fall. Since we can wear flip flops and sandals all but a few months out of the year it means keeping my toenails painted.

This is the perfect fall color. I think it goes with everything.

It’s called Navy Fleet.

So like I told you in an earlier post (HERE) we started watching this new series and as of right now, we are both HOOKED! The first episode had a surprise ending and we were all “WHAT???”

Well if you think episode one’s ending was a shocker, you’re definitely going to need to watch episode two! The end came and I literally yelled “WHAT?, I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!” and this is from a girl who is constantly driving her family nuts predicting what’s about to happen next on shows.
