What a morning!!!
We got up at 4:30 to take our son to the airport. Talk about a hot mess. The lines for baggage check were horrendous and I have a feeling security was equally as bad. We thought we had planned for plenty of time but once we pulled up to the curb we could see it was really crowded. Kent and I dropped him off and after seeing the lines were pretty nervous so we decided we’d better wait around to make sure he got to the gate. We found a parking lot to sit in until we heard from him that all was well. Good news, he’s on the plane! Bad news, now it’s delayed an hour. Poor kid, he was sweating this one out and so were we. He said for a while he really thought he wasn’t going to make it. Lesson learned: leave a bigger cushion!!! (and avoid the San Jose airport, it always seems to be a struggle)
So now let’s talk about my “Hot Pants”. No, they are not what you are probably thinking. No one wants to see me in “hot pants”.?
Have you ever heard of a company called Zaggora? They make active wear for women and now also health foods and they give $5 from every order to women’s charities.
(this is not a sponsored post, but I do have an affiliate link)
I can’t even remember how I came to find them, but when we were still living in Richmond, VA (over 7 1/2 years ago) I stumbled on to this company. Oh wait, I just remembered I actually think it may have been through Groupon. Anyhoo, I bought a pair of workout shorts from them and wore them pretty much EVERYDAY to work out that I was working out at home. I didn’t wear them out in public because Katie wouldn’t let me out of the house in them…LOL
They are basically made out of the same stuff as a wet suit (or similar anyway). So what do they do and do I like them? Why yes, I do.
They make you SWEAT!!!! Not glisten, SWEAT! After I do a workout and take them off without being too graphic, let’s just say you definitely need to shower and put on dry undies. I love that I will sweat off about a pound of water weight if I do a good cardio workout.
I wore that same pair of Hot Pants shorts for at least the last 8 years and finally had to give in and buy a new pair. Mine had started to stretch out and had runs in the fabric. My original pair made a “swooshing” sound whenever I walked in them, but my new pair has an inset that keeps that from happening and I love that.
I must really trust y’all because I’m going to share a picture of myself getting ready to workout in my Hot Pants. Here’s the real me ready to feel the burn.
Most days I do 45 minutes on my elliptical. I go through times where I’ll do DVD’s that are a mix of cardio and weights or sometimes after my elliptical workout I do different arm workouts I’ve found on Pinterest. I try to work out a minimum of 5 days a week and 6 if I can make it happen.
This is the style of my first pair of Hot Pants.
And this is my new pair. I’d have no problem going out in these to walk or go to an exercise class. They look like normal capri workout pants.
If you are looking for some new workout gear I’d recommend checking these out. Just click on the word Zaggora and be taken to the site.
They seem to sell out frequently and sometimes take a little while to receive after ordering, but that just tells me that I’m not the only who likes them.
What’s your secret work out weapon?
Now that I’ve shared mine it’s time for me to get them on and get to work.
Happy Tuesday friends!
Feel the burn!
Lisa
