Friday Favorites #54

Whoa Nelly! This week went screaming by and here we are at Friday again and you know what that means. Time for Friday Favorites. You know what is always a favorite? Friday!!!

~one~

Yesterday was my first time to co-host a link up. You know I love to participate in them and do it frequently, but this time was my first time to get to actually be a host. Thanks Allie for asking me to collaborate with you and all the other girls. In case you missed the link up we were talking about our favorite Target finds.

My friend Elizabeth and I just love to give each other fun little gifts. It’s kind of “our thing”. Seems whenever we are going to be seeing each other we both end up bringing the other one something. I took her several Easter goodies when I visited and she had this cute Nashville tea towel waiting for me in my room. ❤️

While visiting last week, I found this in her pantry. Well not this very jar, because I didn’t steal her peanut butter. I’ve always been true to Jif peanut butter, but I’m afraid it’s now been replaced in my heart with this deliciousness. I’ve never been a fan of “natural peanut butter” because of the the texture and what I considered to be lack of taste, but THIS STUFF…it’s DELICIOUS!!!

It’s primarily available in a few southern states in Krogers and some natural food stores but you can purchase it on Amazon.

Now for the best part. This peanut butter is not only tasty, it is a company that is doing good for malnourished children. This is taken right off their website:

Every time you buy Good Spread, we provide a packet of RUTF to a malnourished child through a partnership with MANA Nutrition.

RUTF stands for Ready To Use Therapeutic Food and MANA is an organization that partners with World Vision. You can go here to read more about this company.

I may or may not have brought 3 jars of this home in my suitcase.

I’ve read several bloggers and magazine articles that talk about this It’s a 10 product. The water where we live has a lot of chemicals in it and is killing my hair. I’ve never had such dryness even when I used to color and perm my hair. A double whammy! I just ran out of the other product I was using and thought I’d give this a try. I’ve used it 3 days so far this week and I can honestly tell you that it really does make my hair feel less brittle.

Earlier this week I also did a post on my 10 favorite phone apps. Everyone has their favorites, but sometimes it’s fun to learn about new ones you might like.

It pays to have friends that work at the college your kids attend. Every spring the president of the university hosts an event for the graduating seniors and that was this past Tuesday night. My sweet friend Laura sent me this picture of Benny and one of his friends Ethan. (it had been pouring rain)

How can our bearded baby boy be graduating from college two weeks from tomorrow? Benny told me one time when we were talking about how fast his college years were flying by that, “the days are long, but the years are short”. I think that applies to everything in life.

  • I am a tried and true Jif girl as well but I would love to try that all natural one. That is so wonderful your baby boy is graduating from college. I love that statement and it just tells me how fast these years are going to go by. Have a wonderful weekend beautiful lady

    • You are such a doll!!! I forgot to mention aside from being delicious it has 20 less calories per 2T than Jif. ?? Enjoy your weekend too!!!

  • That's really sweet that you and your friend give each other random gifts. I like doing that too!

  • That towel is so cute and a great gift! Ari and I have the worst hair on the planet, so we gave It's a 10 a try- it does better on her hair than mine. Garnier came out with a 10-in-1 with cactus flower that is fairly similar, and it smells awesome. Still waiting to find a true miracle for my disaster of locks! Have a great one!

    • I'll have to look at the Garnier product too. I looked at the It's a 10 shampoo and conditioner last night. I may eventually give them a try. We're actually looking into a water softener just because of what the water is doing to my hair?. Have a great weekend.
