Friday Favorites #57

How are you this fine Friday? I’m really going to miss being able to blog next week listening to the ocean in the background and looking over my computer as I’m typing watching the waves come onto the beach. As we get to close to end of our trip it’s so hard to not want it to come to an end, but that’s just a sign of how great it’s been.

Seeing as how Friday has rolled around again that means I need to recap some of my favorites.

~one~

Getting to catch up with old friends. Pat and Susie’s daughter also graduated from Lipscomb last Saturday. These are good friends from our dating and early married days and Pat is the person who married us 25 years ago this October.

Everything about this is a favorite. Being with my girl and being in a pool in the sun.

I usually wear a ball cap when I’m in the sun, but I wanted to be sure my entire face was covered and hopefully part of my chest. I found this cute hat at Target and have loved it. You can wear the brim numerous ways to suit your mood and coverage. I finally found it online and it’s currently on sale for under $12. Worth every penny! Check out all their sun hats here.

No trip to the beach is complete with a night of mini-golf and harassing each other over who’s doing the worst.

Bonding with the girlies while doing a face mask. I think we look like the green version of Blue Man Group.

I ordered this Aztec Secret Indian Clay mask after reading Lauren’s review of face masks over on Style Elixir. She said it really helped with acne and breakouts so I ordered it for Katie to hopefully help with her breakouts. Here’s what I think about it. It takes a time or two to figure out the best way to mix it. I put it in a mug and added water and stirred it with a fork. A small whisk might work better but I didn’t have one so I had to improvise. I think it you let it sit for a few minutes before applying it helps to make the “lumps” easier to spread and smooth out. It leaves your skin very soft and smooth. I’ll warn you that it really gets tight as it’s drying and if you put it on thick like directed that drying time takes a good 20-30 minutes. Your face will tingle and itch as it’s drying. I think it’d be great for a “spa” night or doing it together like we did and I will use it again. I’ll report back with how it does for Ms. Katie’s face.

SUNSCREEN

Oh how I’m so grateful for this product. We’d be the lobster family if someone hadn’t been smart enough to come up with this.

I much prefer the spray, but with 5 of us we were going through a bottle every time we all applied and that gets pricey. We switched to the ‘old fashion’ kind which no one likes applying but sometimes you just gotta’ do it. I’ve been told by several dermatologists that Neutrogena and Banana Boat are among the best sunscreens.

Happy Friday friends. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

❤️Happy Mother’s Day to all you sweet mama’s❤️
