Happy Memorial Day my friends!
It’s easy to forget why we have this day of remembrance but if you are looking for a movie to give you a glimpse into just why we observe it I’d like to recommend Hacksaw Ridge. It’s intense and graphic, but you will come away with a new appreciation for all the men (and now women) who take on this life and decision to become soldiers.

Have you watched the Band of Brothers series? It is absolutely amazing. I presented at a teacher conference at the Korean War Veterans Digital Memorial a few years back, and it was so disheartening to see how little respect many of our representatives in Congress have for our veterans. We were at the 20th anniversary of the memorial ceremony in DC, and I believe one senator came. So sad.
I haven't seen that. I'll keep it in mind. It really and truly is shameful how our veterans are treated. That's a soap box hot button for sure. Hope you've had a great day!!! Try to enjoy the last few days of school. XO

Oh Hacksaw Ridge, such a great movie! I was so teary eyed and then seeing videos if him at the end, oh my word. I honestly came away with a new appreciation for what our veterans endured.

Thanks Jenny! We did. Hope y'all did too. Honestly, it's not a movie we would have gone to, but I had a free screening offer. Not my cup of tea at all, but it really was a good movie. I told Kent he owed me like 1,000 chick flicks when we left...LOL
