What Mom Wants

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT’S MAY????

I can.not! I am ready for those May flowers that come after the April showers.

For most people the countdown is on for school to get out and summer to begin. One thing I find to be strange about being an empty nester is the way our calendar no longer revolves around the school calendar the way it did for soooooo long. I’m mean sure, we still have the holidays and planning for those, but not all the weekly/monthly stuff you mama’s of school aged kids have.

So let me give you a speedy recap of our weekend.

We were busy, busy, busy, but of our own choosing and instead of telling you all about it, here are a couple of picture collages.

Walked to the bagel place and ate a late breakfast early lunch…7.25 miles round trip…not bad.

Saturday afternoon “linner” and shopping.

After our long walk in the morning, by late afternoon we were hungry again so we hit up the new Boudin for a little “linner”. (late lunch, early dinner) Our son thinks we’ve pretty much become the “old early bird special” people now and I’m pretty sure I was able to hear him rolling his eyes even in his texts.

If you are ever in San Francisco and are a fan of clam chowder and sourdough bread then a trip to Boudin is a must. They’ve recently opened one in the shopping are where we were, so that’s where we landed.

So delicious

And we shared this scrumptious little nugget. We are both suckers for all things frosting.

Anthropologie has just recently moved to a much bigger location that now has EVERYTHING. Oh the beauty of this store. This is not your average Anthropologie (not that any Anthropologie is average) but this one is the store of your dreams. It.is.GORGEOUS! It has everything from shoes, to furniture, to home accessories, to cosmetics, to bridal, to an area called Terrain that is basically a darling greenhouse specializing in plants and particularly my personal favorite, succulents. This store is not just retail, it’s a destination. I think there are some of you who’s head just might explode if you got to go into this beautiful store and wander around.

Now that I’ve got you dreaming of that, let me real you back in…

May brings quite a few big events.

~Mother’s Day

and

~Memorial Day

Today let’s tackle Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day is two weeks away so it’s time to get serious and start thinking about what to get that precious woman you call mom. Maybe you’ve been asked what you’d like to receive but are coming up dry? Well not to worry, I’m here for you. I’ve found some things that should make any mom happy and show her she’s loved. Don’t wait til’ Saturday and head to Walgreens for a blow up foot bath and box of epsom salts. (any Middle fans out there? You all totally know what I’m talking about…LOL)

Let’s find out what MOM wants and get her something she’ll love.

As I sit here typing this guess what I’m wearing? Yep, my Barefoot dreams cardigan…aka “blardigan“. I’m not even joking when I say I wear this thing every.single.day.

Fringe earrings // cuff bracelet // floral kimono

Alex and Ani bracelet // watch

scalloped tote // faux leather tote

woven tassel tote // Coco Mademoiselle // Tocca perfume sampler // Mac Nude lip // pajamas

I love rounding up fun gift ideas and these are all real winners. I’d be thrilled to open up any one of these on Mother’s Day.? I just looked back at last years round up and several of these are repeats, so I guess that means I really like them.

Now it’s time for me to get to work. I’m bound and determine to do a better job of packing this time than I did a couple of weeks ago when I went to Nashville.

#epicpackingfail

I’ve got to get the laundry done and think about what I need to pack for the beach. I’d better look back at my beach post and make sure I don’t leave anything out.

Have a great week y’all!

Lisa

  • I'm asking for a robe and cake stand, but I have a feeling I'm getting something techy. I have a Pinterest board called "Hint, Hint" for my husband to refer to and then he claims he can never find my Pinterest page. Duh! Read my blog, man! Have a great Monday!

    • Allie, I'm literally sitting here laughing out loud at this. Does he at least look at the pictures? LOL! Kent (& my dad) both admit they just scan down and look for pictures and Kent just loves when he's on here...what a hoot! Love the idea of your Pinterest board. If that's "too complicated" for him, maybe he needs to wake up with a post-it on his forehead and some suggestions.? I hope you get the cake stand and the robe. (don't they know this is why we end up shopping for ourselves??) Happy Monday!

  • did someone say beach? Yes lady! I love your gift round up and I was just thinking I need to get one or two more things for my mama so this is great! Hey way to walk all the way to the bagel store so you don't feel like you even consumed any calories ha ha, those are the kinds of things that I do. I want to in anthropologie, we do not have one close so I went crazy at the one in Vegas.

    • Of course we went to Boudin for "linner" and had clam chowder in bread bowls, so it was a good thing we'd been walking!? (I forgot to add those pictures?)This new Anthro is such a gorgeous store. I just walk around all starry eyed. Have a great week, Andrea!!!!

  • "Old Early Bird Special" totally cracked me up!! I caught my breath when I saw your cookie sandwich, but then realized it was sandwiched between frosting instead of ice cream. I made some of them this weekend for our party and the kids loved them! Have fun on your trip!! Snap some pics!!

    • I saw your delicious looking ice cream sandwiches on Snap. YUMMM!!!! I love to make those too, but it's been a long time. I guess I need to make some soon. I'll try to remember to Snap some. I also trying to use Insta stories more??
