Happy Friday friends! I’m straying from my normal Friday Favorites this week and teaming up with Jennie from A Pocketful of Polka Dots for her Fabulous Friday Link Up. I have to tell you, I’m both excited and nervous as this is my first gig as a co-host. Jennie has such a fun blog and also a really fun sense of style, and expressing herself through that. Thanks Jennie for allowing me to post along side of you.
I’ve been on a bit of a dress hunt here of late with all the wedding events our family has coming up. During one of the most recent LOFT sales, I ordered quite a few dresses and shared them in a Loft try on session post last week. I saved this little red cutie for a solo post though and so it worked out perfectly for today and it’s currently 30% off.
I love an easy, breezy, non-confining dress and this one falls perfectly into that category. I typically don’t wear red, but this dress is so cute I couldn’t resist. I love the split neckline and ruffle hem and well, the parrots on it are just so stinkin’ fun! Strappy sandals are perfect for a dressier look, but this dress can also be dressed down a little too for a more casual occasion.
The dress itself has so much personality that accessories can be kept at a minimum. I chose to go with bigger earrings and a petite necklace. These earrings are some of my most worn next to my Nickel & Suede earrings that I just adore. {Which by the way, Nickel & Suede is having a site wide sale for 15% off this weekend to help you get ready for Mother’s Day.} These earrings from BaubleBar are currently on sale for less than half price and would look super cute with this dress too.
For a more casual look I tried it on with my favorite wedges (that are really so comfortable) and added my go to jean jacket. This was one of the looks I was thinking about for the bridal shower last weekend, but I held it back in case I want it for one of the days the weekend of the wedding. Do you do that? Hold onto stuff for the future instead of wearing it right away?

My favorite look from last weeks linkup was Andrea from Living on Cloud Nine. Andrea is one of my blogging soul sisters, and we share a love for so many things including this adorable floral jumpsuit. I’ve been trying to find the perfect jumpsuit and after seeing how darling this looked on Andrea, I headed straight for Target, but alas they didn’t have my size. Stop by Andrea’s blog and say hey…tell her Lisa sent you.?

Hi! Popping over from Jennie. Love the dress! Great styled both ways.
Laurie xx
Hi Laurie! Thanks so much for popping over and the compliment. It’s a fun dress. Happy weekend!!! XO
Nice job co-host!!! You look fabulous in this red frock! Love it dressy and with the denim jacket. Dang, that Baublebar sale is so good right now. I had several things in my cart yesterday but didn't buy yet! Trying hard to be good is so hard for me, lol. Love that meme and yes, it is me to a T - I hate wasting a good outfit on a regular 'ol day!
Happy Friday my beautiful friend!
xo,
Kellyann
Well thank you very much!!! Just stepping out of my comfort zone a little. I know…I have stuff in BB cart too and I’m trying to hold myself back. Soooo hard!!! Happy weekend!!! XOXO
So cute!! I love that parrot print fabric. Do you think this dress could be belted? Free flowing looks terrible on me but I really love this one!
Hi Stacey! Hmmm, that’s a good thought. I’m not sure. I think it might look funny if it was belted and it would definitely make it shorter. Sorry I’m not much help on that one. I can’t imagine free flowing looking bad on you. You look like you are the same size as me?. Just give it a try☺️(that’s what return policies are for…LOL) Happy weekend!! XO
What a fabulous dress, Lisa!! To me, summer means exactly these kind of dresses and skirts!!
XOXO

Yea for hosting Lisa! I LOVE this dress on you! It seems you need more red in your closet, as it is a fabulous color on you! ( one of my favs too!) Love the parrot print! I saw a dress with a peacock print i am considering.. dresses are just so easy and comfy in the warmer months. Looks great with both sandals too!

Ooooo, a peacock dress sound totally fun! I love flowy dresses and not being confined. HA! Have the best weekend!! XO
Glad your co-hosting well done. I adore the dress and those sandals I keep seeing and absolutely love them to pieces. Thanks for sharing on my #chicnadstylish #linkup today, hope to see you here next week Hun. x Jacqui Mummabstylish
Thanks Jacqui! Thanks for hosting a great linkup too. Hope you had a marvelous weekend!! XO
This is the cutest dress! I just love the bright color and fun parrots. It looks great with the larger earrings and of course I am a huge fan of it with the denim jacket and wedges. Yes, I do sometimes hang onto things and think I will save this to wear later and then it inevitably winds up not being worn at all, or not nearly enough!! Thanks so much for joining me as co-host this week, Lisa!!! :)
Thanks Jennie and thanks again for having me as co-host. What a great experience. You are such an inspiration to me. Now I've just got to wear the dress for real and not just for photos. LOL. Good thing I've got several events coming up! Happy Monday! XO
Well, Sweet Friend! You did an AWESOME job at your first co-host gig! So proud of you! And you look beautiful in red! I love that dress, and yes, I do save things that I buy for a later date, but not all the time. I hope you have a fun and fabulous weekend!
You're so sweet to me. Thanks! We need to wear these things instead of saving them. Can you believe I still haven't worn that dress for real???? What the heck??? Happy Monday!! XOXO
That dress is super cute! I love the parrot print! And it's a great length too!
Thanks Laura! YES, you are so right. The length is perfect! That alone makes it a keeper. Happy Monday! XO
