Hey y’all! Does anyone else feel like this Friday is way overdue? Wednesday being the 4th and a holiday made the week all discombobulated for us. Kent commented that it felt like Saturday. Sadly, yesterday he had to get up and go to work though. That’s okay, because we’re on vacation countdown. Two weeks from tomorrow, we are outta’ here!
It’s Friday and that can only mean one thing in blogland. Friday Favorites.
For this weeks favorites I decided once again to deviate from the variety type and go with a theme and the theme is hair care. I’ve been loving a few new things I’ve started using and wanted to share them with you. Who knows, maybe you’re looking for just that thing.
This right here is the new MVP of my hair line up. I have heard numerous women talk about this product and I finally turned to my good friend Amazon and ordered some. IT.IS.AWESOME! I’ve been using a mousse by Herbal Essences for years, but this stuff has bumped that big time. Yes, it’s more expensive, but it’s totally worth it IMHO. I find my roots have so much more lift when I blow dry with this. You can find it in Ulta, but it’s always excluded as a premium brand from discounts. As luck would have it, it’s been being on sale on Amazon. I feel like I should buy a case!
Okay, just hear me out on this one. I have always been a Revlon blow dryer kinda gal. Been using the same dryer from Target for YEARS. Always bought the same one when the old one crapped out. Stick with you know, right? (Kent is very grateful for this attitude on more levels than one…LOL) This is yet another thing I kept hearing women talk about. A GOOD blow dryer. This T3 is one of the ones that kept popping on my radar. The other one that’s a big buzz is by Dyson. The T3 was a stretch for me to rationalize spending this much on a dryer. The Dyson? No way! Well, I’ve really been enjoying my new T3. One of the things I had been hearing was that your drying time is reduced with this dryer. I’m happy to report I feel like this is true. I have so.much.hair. If I can cut down on the amount of time I have to spend using the blow dryer even just a little, then I’m thrilled. More time for me and less damage for my hair. Win! Win!
This is another product that I’ve been using for a while and when I ran out I bought it again. To me that says I like it and think it’s good. I’m not sure if it’s age #surelynot or the water where I live, but my hair has never been as dry on the ends as it has since moving to California. We have somewhat hard water and I think the chemicals/minerals in it play a large part in this because when I go other places, I can tell a difference in my hair in a good way. This it’s a 10 is a leave in conditioner, it doesn’t add any weight to my hair, leave it looking or feeling greasy or even feel like there’s a product in there. I believe it just helps me keep it a little healthier, and these days I’m all about that whether it’s my hair or my body.
I want a hairspray that will hold but not give me helmet hair. This Sebastian Shaper Spray is a new product for me but I like it. I’m almost finished with my first bottle and just bought a replacement yesterday. I did buy the Shaper Plus+ this time because it says it’s for humidity, and even though it’s not humid here, it is everywhere I visit. The first bottle I purchased I found at Ross and yesterday there was a good supply at Marshall’s. They were only slightly cheaper than the Amazon prices I shared, so if you don’t have one of those stores or yours isn’t carrying it, you’re still getting a good deal.?
One of my favorite “tools” is my paddle hair brush. I have been using this exact same brush for at least 8 years. It wears like iron and is easy on my hair. Makes blow drying a breeze, and is just all around a great brush. My hairdresser in Richmond used the exact one, so I knew just which one to buy and have loved it. The last time I cleaned it (because it gets so gross from all the product) I took photos of the entire process, but they look so nasty I’m hesitant to share. If y’all don’t know the best way to clean your brushes leave me a shout out in the comments and I’ll do a brush cleaning post.
I used a Conair straightener for years until I finally went to the beauty supply with my mom and bought a good one. Again, my hairdresser in Richmond told me the cheaper ones tend to burn out faster and the temp will start to fluctuate and overheat on them causing damage to your hair. I was having trouble with my hair around my face looking fried and since changing to a better tool, I haven’t been having that issue.
I have two different sizes of the same curling iron for when I wear my hair curled. I use the larger barrel for bigger curls and smaller barrel for a little tighter curls.

Great list my friend! You have gorgeous hair! I like that It's a 10 too - in fact I tried a less expensive version and I think it made my hair too soft so I'm buying the It's a 10 again! That blow dryer is awesome and I'm glad you like it! I use Elnett hairspray, I've used so many but always go back to it!
Your vacation is going to be here before you know it!!! Yay!!!
xo,
Kellyann
Well thank you! I sure have plenty of it. Believe it or not, I just wish it came down further on my forehead. I have such a strange hairline. I haven’t heard of that hairspray. I just happened to stumble on this stuff. Have a great weekend!!! XO
I’m super intrigued about cleaning out your hair brush! I have dry shampoo stuck in mine and I just keep buying new ones every 6 months or so because I can’t get it off! Any tips?!
I’ll have to do a post on it. It’s gross, but oh man does it look so much better after. AND…UGH I totally meant to put dry shampoo in this post. Dang-it!!! Happy weekend!!! XO
My hair is definitely fried around my face, so I should really check out a nicer flat iron! Have a wonderful weekend!
Ugh, I hate that. It took me a loooong time to get it cut/grown off. Good luck!!! Have a great weekend! XO
Happy 2 week countdown underway! I do not want to go back home tomorrow. Ha ha, I told Jay I’ll go kicking and screaming like a brat, lol. Just heading to beach after a kayak trip so wanted to say I need all these after wearing my hair up all week and Happy weekend baby doll!
Oh my gosh, I totally can not wait!!! I’m sure your week has been heaven on Earth and you did such a great job keeping up with blogging. Have a wonderful weekend sweetness!! XO
I love the It's a 10 products. The conditioner is terrific too. My daughter who has thick curly hair and I both use them.

Super choices, I use most of these! Thanks for joining the #linkup Jacqui Mummabstylish
Thanks Jacqui!
Love hearing about new hair products because I never know when I might be interested in trying some. Enjoy your weekend Lisa.
Me too, Lea. Hope your week is going great!! XO
I just added quite a few of these to my amazon wish list! My hair takes forever to dry and while I let it air dry in the summer, in the winter I'd love to be able to dry it faster! That leave in conditioner sounds amazing too!
Oh good. Yes, I like to find new things that I know friends like too. So much more reliable than just a review some where. XOXO
I'm so lazy with my hair anymore haha. But I do have a T3 straightener that I loved (back when I would actually make the effort to straighten my hair!). And I think I've tried the It's a 10 spray before!
Apparently I’m so lazy with returning comments. What on Earth? A T3 Straightener sounds great. Hope you are doing well sweet girl!!! XOXO
I love seeing the products other people use! I just started using It's a 10 a couple of months ago and it really is great! I agree that it really seems to help with the dryness without adding weight or making my hair limp.
P.S. You asked in another comment somewhere about my CA history? I'm not a native but have lived here for a lot of my post-college adult life. :) San Jose for 6 years, then up to Seattle for 5 years, then we've been in San Diego for the last 5 years. :)
Me too, Gina! Wish you were still in SJ, we could get together. XO
