Howdy friends and happy Monday to you! Well, the sales just continue to come at us. I was just saying last night that Black Friday/Cyber Monday has gone from a 2 day event to a 2 week event. Lucky for us,I guess, but not our wallets. HA! At the end of this post I’m sharing the best of the Cyber Monday deals, but first let’s talk Spanx!
This is my first year with my new Spanx Faux Leather Leggings. That’s a mouth full, so let’s just call them my FLL’s. I ordered them last year and wasn’t quite brave enough to keep them, but after seeing them on soooo many other bloggers, I threw caution to the wind this year, ordered them again…and wore them.
I’ve worn them several times and now I see what all the fuss is about. If you’re a little hesitant, I say go for it. The first time I wore them I felt a little conspicuous, but after that, I just felt like I had on a regular old pair of leggings and now I’m hooked.
Spanx FLL’s, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
1 – Soooo comfortable
(I wore them on all our recent travel days)
2 – Hold me in nice and tight
3 – Generous waistband that keeps the bulge at bay
4 – Versatility in a legging. Dress them up. Dress them down.
I’ve worn them both a little dressier (here), and then more casual. Today I’m sharing a super easy casual look, just perfect for a busy day of decorating, lunch with friends or running errands. Not only will these be great all winter, but they are so fun for holiday wear when you want to be comfortable but look really on trend. Women of all ages are taking part in this trend. Don’t believe me? Here’s a little inspo for you.

I paired mine with my latest plaid obsession, this shirt. I was googley eyed over it last year and totally regretted not buying it. Lucky for me, it made an encore performance this year and I grabbed one. Here’s a tip, if you find yourself looking at an article of clothing over and over, just go ahead and buy it. That’s exactly what happened to me in the case of these leggings and this shirt.
If you buy them and then they just hang in the closet without being worn, you know to return them, but if you wear them once, chances are good you’ll wear them a lot. Case in point right here.
Anyway, back to the outfit. These are some of the most basic pieces you can have but they can be mixed and matched with a lot of different items in (my) your closet. The shirt can be worn all winter, but I like that it definitely has a holiday vibe color wise that can then continue to be serviceable for the rest of the season.
I added one of my Old Navy cardigans (currently up to 3 of the exact same style). I told y’all before that they seem almost like cashmere but you can usually score one for under $30, so I’d call that a no brainer. The look of cashmere for a substantially cheaper price. Sign me up.
I chose to pair my outfit with a suede slip on sneaker by Steve Madden. These are really comfy and great for being on your feet a lot. They’re a great cross between a sneaker and a loafer. You could just as easily add your favorite black boots or booties though and make this a little dressier.
So tell me I’m not alone and that sometimes it takes you a season to come around to finally getting something you’ve been eyeing.

Well my beautiful friend, I am so HAPPY you kept these this year! They look terrific on you and really they're no different than wearing regular leggings! They're just a bit more stylish and like you said you can dress them up or down. I love this casual style. I need a comfy slip on sneaker like that to wear with mine. I had a pair but they were no longer comfortable so I got rid of them. I love that plaid shirt too! Seriously how many plaid shirts do I need? Apparently a lot!

I look forward to reading your blog each day that you post...the Steve Madden shoes that you’re wearing today state they’re a platform sole on the Nordstrom website, the ones you’re wearing don’t look like they’re a platform shoe, are they noticeably high when wearing them? I have an old pair of Steve Maddens that are similar but flat that I’m hoping to replace but am hesitant about the platform heel. Any input you have will be very helpful! That pair is a pair of Steve Maddens I had picked up at TJMaxx and just wore them for the pictures...LOL I had also ordered the Steve Madden Gills to compare and they hadn't come in yet, but once they did I definitely liked the platform pair better . The Gills do have a slightly higher platform (my daughter has them too) They are very cushiony and comfortable. I hope this helps. OH and they run short. I'd order up a 1/2 size. Have a great day! XO
