The Softest Cowl Neck Burgundy Tunic

Hi friends! How was your weekend? Ours was good, actually really good. Kent is an alum of Univ. of Oklahoma, and they won their game Saturday putting them in the Orange Bowl against Alabama. That means my friend Laura and I will be rooting against each other, but no matter the outcome…I’ll love her anyway.?

We also finally saw the Queen movie, Bohemian Rhapsody. I wasn’t sure if I’d like it or not, but I have got to tell you, it was really good. It’s long, but you don’t even really realize it until it’s over. I’d give it ?????out of 5 ?.

I’m 98% finished with my Christmas decorating and so very happy about that.

I know you’re going to gasp when I tell you this is another Lou & Grey item. Seriously, I’ve been wearing this brand for I’d guess about 5 years and from the very first piece I purchased, I was S.O.L.D. I think they were the first  company to figure out this really soft cotton fabric, and that women love it. I honestly couldn’t find anything as soft for the longest time, but now I’m finding more stores getting on board and offering things that are just as soft making it easier to get pieces like this. The Loft Outlet carries a “lounge” line that feels exactly the same, American Eagle carries a line that is super soft, and reminds me of it and Nordstrom has the Gibson and Caslon brands that are super cozy and soft as well.

Lou & Grey comes with a little pricier tag in my book, but if you wait for a sale at Loft you can score them for a much better price. I think when it first came out only Loft carried it, but now the have free-standing stores and Nordstrom has just recently started carrying some of it as well.

I have several of these tunics and they are just the best for everyday wear. Not only do I think they are so cute for wearing out and about, they are also just so darn cozy that I like to wear them when I’m just putzing around at home.

Most of the Lou & Grey tunics are long enough to wear with leggings but look really cute with jeans too.

I added one of my favorite puffer vests from Old Navy that my SIL got me for Christmas a few years ago and had monogrammed. I’m a sucker for anything with a monogram and I adore it on this vest. Great job Lorrie!

I’ve shared this story before, but for those of you that might be new, I’ll tell it again. When we first moved to California and Katie wore her monogrammed necklace to school, some of the kids asked her if it was a GANG symbol. WHAT? We knew right then and there we definitely weren’t in the south any more…not that we hadn’t figured it already.

My mules are from Old Navy and are a really good shoe especially at this price point. They are comfortable, and cute and don’t look cheap at all. If you’re looking for some to try, and don’t want to spend a lot or maybe have a teen/college girl who needs some, I highly recommend them.

I’ve rounded up some super soft pieces for you to shop

  • Thank you Kim! I only recently started wearing it and now I love it. Go find yourself some Lou & Grey. I think you’ll adore it. Happy Monday!!! XO

  • I love soft cozy items and cowl necks so this is a match made in heaven. That is funny, but yes, monograms are so southern, yet something I've never been into.

    • Me too Fonda! I love a good monogram, but they aren’t for everyone (as seen out here. HA!) Hope you have a wonderful week!!! XO

  • That is so funny about the monogram! Other parts of the country are definitely a little different! Great look with that soft shirt!

    • This part is for sure different. HA! I’m all about a cozy shirt. Maybe I’ll wear it today. XO

  • What in the world is wrong with people asking Katie if her monogram was a hang symbol! That is crazy!!! What a great idea having your puffer vest monogrammed. I think I'm going to do the same thing, Old Navy has such affordable vests. Your tree looks amazing, great job. Lou & Grey is so soft, you have me hooked my friend! Looking festive in your burgundy my friend! Love ya!

    • I know, right? Where do I even live. HAHAHAHA!!!! For real, you’d never guess it was an ON vest. I love it. Happy Monday friend. Talk to you soon. XO

  • Wha the What about the monogram? My goodness, that puffer is CA-UTE!!! And you tree is stunning!! Yep, if we win our game we will play for the Championship wither against Bama or Oklahoma. You look like you need a cup of tea or cocoa in your hand while strolling with....me, lol!!! Happy Monday girlfriend!!

    • I know, right?! I’m obviously living in the wrong place. HAHAHA! Oh no…I don’t want to root against two friends. HA! I’m only a fan by marriage. I should have “staged” my Starbucks red cup with this…I got the darn thing for that very reason and never think to. Keep an eye out…now you’ve prompted me. Happy Monday!! XO

  • LOL! That is funny about the gang symbol but not really surprising to me as a lifelong west-coaster. Monograms just aren't a thing here and I didn't know about them myself until I fashion blogs came about around 2008-2010. And your Lou & Grey tunic looks cozy for sure! I'm so glad soft and comfortable fabrics are a thing now!

    • Me too Gina! Soft and comfortable is totally my style. (I feel like I’m going soft and need to get comfortable with it…LOL)

  • I love a good cowel neck, and that rich burgundy is so festive for the holidays! Also, your Christmas tree is #goals! I said the same to Andrea haha you both need to teach me your ways! I've been thinking of taking Ryan to see Bohemian Rhapsody in NH, and I guess that's a recommendation to do so?! Glad you had a great weekend!

    • Good morning cutie!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Always lifting me up?. YES, take Ryan to see the movie. A great date for you two lovebirds. Happy Monday sweet girl! XO

    • Thank you so much Cheryl. I need your buffalo plaid fleece pullover to wear next to it. (it’s sold out though?) Have a wonderful Saturday!!! XO

  • I will still love you, too, Friend!! Win or Lose! I am absolutely loving your tree! The two red ribbons together just pop! Cowl neck sweaters are my favorite. Looks like it's getting cold enough here again to wear them again!

    • Aw, thank you. I’d be so sad if you didn’t. ❤️ I’m happy with how my tree turned out. You and I are both having a moment with buffalo plaid. I think cowl necks are a flattering neckline on most people. YAY. Have a wonderful Saturday!!! XO
