Welcome to this months edition of Ageless Style where the first Tuesday of every month ten over 40 bloggers present a different style theme and show a myriad of ways to wear it, all the while proving you can still be fashionable and on trend over 40 and beyond.
Naturally when it came time for Jonet to pick our theme, she chose green. I mean, why wouldn’t she? We are after all in the month of St. Patrick’s Day and Mardi Gras and all things green.
Green has been my favorite color for as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until I started writing this post I realized just how much I love it and wear at it. It was like pulling at a thread. I had no idea what I had started.
When I was trying to decide how to tackle this I decided showcasing looks I’ve already created would be the best, most versatile and hopefully beneficial way to do it. So fasten your seat belts ladies, because I have gathered 20+ looks I’ve worn with green, army green, olive green or whatever you prefer to call it.
Let’s kick things off with military jackets and military vests. These are some super versatile pieces that for a lot of us are closet staples. I wear them the most in spring and fall and they seem to stay around year after year. Definitely a good investment and there are some really economical ones available.
Yep, you guessed it. A green open front cardigan. Of course I’d have this in my ever growing collection of cardigans. Can’t stop, won’t stop. I seriously am on the verge of needing some kind of support group. Hello, my name is Lisa and I want all of the cardigans. LOL!
Next up, camo. Not only is army green a neutral, but camo is too. It’s in the same camp as leopard and now snakeskin. BTW…Did you see my post last week on snakeskin? You can find it HERE. I know camo can be a little intimidating and scary, but after you wear it a time or two, you’ll be comfortable in it and forget you’re even wearing it. You can also hide and no one will know where you are. LOL You can add it to your wardrobe in the form of jackets, tees, shoes or other accessories.
This green poncho/ruana moved straight to the head of the class. I had no idea I’d get so much wear out of this when I bought it last fall. I wish Target would bring it back for this spring in some fun colors. I’d love another one. It’s perfect for topping so many things and for carrying to the movies or on a plane. It’s kind of a cross between a sweater and a blanket. I found some similar you can shop here.
Then there are all the miscellaneous green items I have. Free People tee, sweater, chenille sweater, waffle knit top and sweashirt. Obviously I am a fan of all the green. HA! This is a color that has just taken over my closet in the last few years.
So to sum it up. If you haven’t started wearing this color of green, what are you waiting for?

Love all the styles. My green utility vest is one of my favorite pieces.
Thanks Heather. Utility vests are such great pieces. XO
Love all the camo in this post- need it all! You look great in green :)
Thanks Holly! I might have a green habit. LOL
Green looks so good on you, it's funny because I usually think of Kelly green when I think of St. Paddy's Day but this year I went with more of an army green. I have not worn my cargo vest or scarf nearly enough this year. Seeing yours makes me wish I could wear mine!!
xo,
Kellyann
Now if I can just remember to wear it on March 17th. HA!! XOXO
You do green like the gorgeous Goddess you are!! Love all these looks so much especially when you wear camo, you cutie pie! I love olives and army green but man I just added those splashes of kelly green too so it's nice and Springy in teh Nine house, lol! love ya Friend!
Well thank you very much sweet friend. I had no idea I was a green hoarder. LOL XOXO
Green looks great on you, I can see why you wear it so often! I find green a tricky colour to wear, it's definitely something I'm trying to make more of an effort with lately. I've bought a few green pieces, but I mostly just wear them with neutrals, haha!
Hoping your week is off to a good start :) The weekday wear linkup is live on my blog, I'd love you to join! :)

I love how it's like pulling a thread. Green used to be my favorite color until yellow took over. And I have a ton of it too!!
You and Nancy would get along perfectly in that she has mostly olive green!!
XOXO

You are so ready for St. Patrick's Day! I have been gradually adding more and more olive green to my closet over the years. It's such a great neutral color !
For real…I could change every hour. LOL.
You have SO many cute green looks. I was thinking maybe I don't have a lot of green in my closet, but I do have olive (which is green) and camo! I love that camo tee with the pinkish cardi, I pinned it! That utility vest with the yellow striped shirt & scarf is super cute too!
