You might remember late this summer I received an opportunity to try a new subscription service called Fashom. If you aren’t familiar with Fashom, check out this post and find out more. Today I’m going to share my second Fashom box with you.
I had some credit remaining and wanted to wait until fall to try another box, so I ordered one and received it late last week.
The first two items were these high rise skinny jeans with hem bite and floral embroidered tulip hem sleeve top.
I was excited to try the jeans (in spite of them being high rise). I like the look of the hem bite distressing. When I first put them on, I was hopeful they’d work, but after wearing them for a few minutes, much as I expected, the hight rise made them uncomfortable for me. High rise jeans don’t work well on my short waisted frame.
VERDICT: returned
The embroidered top has a lot of cute details like the embroidery (duh), the tulip hem sleeves and the wide neck. The material is a thick gauzy feeling and would be perfect for season transitioning.
VERDICT: returned
This short drapey jacket has a cute cut, but I didn’t really like the fabric. It was really thin for a “jacket” and more suited to a shirt.
VERDICT: returned
I received a faux suede bell sleeve jacket in this box as well. This jacket did have more of a jacket feel and there were things about it I liked…but the sleeves made me feel a little “Jack Sparrow”.
VERDICT: returned
This is the last item that was in my box. A v-neck fleecy sweater. Y’all, this one was super soft and felt like one of the Gibson pieces we all know and love. Sorry about the picture, I forgot to take a still shot and had to screenshot a video. Had this top been a different color, I’d have been tempted to keep it. I’m not a fan of blue on blue, so I knew I wouldn’t wear it.
VERDICT: returned
So I ended up returning all the items in my second Fashom box. Here’s the thing. Did I dislike them all? No, but I have learned to really evaluate items before adding them to my closet and if I just don’t fell like I will wear it a lot, I don’t keep it. #maybeivegrownup
I think I’ll give it a few more weeks and then take another crack at it, so stay tuned and we’ll see what happens next time.
Fashom donates $1 to Second Chance Rescue NYC for each box sold. This organization strongly aligns with FASHOM’S mission to offer clothing and apparel made with sustainable vegan materials only.
Use my referral code HERE to try Fashom for yourself. You’ll receive $10 credit and so will I, then you’ll also have your own code to share with friends.

I am with you with the same sentiments on clothing 100% I have to really and I mean really love something to keep it. In fact, the items I kept before I have not even worn again yet. Go figure. But I shall try for a Fall box as well. You do look cute in them all, but you make everything look CUTE!!
You are such a sweet heart. I'm hoping to give it another whirl and maybe I'll have a better stylist. I think that was the problem this time. Womp-womp!
XOXO
I love those jeans!
I did too and I wish they'd been midrise!!!
XOXO
Great reviews! And good for you for being a little more picky about what you keep and don't. I am trying to do the same. Even if something is cute, sometimes a detail or two is not quite right and I'm better off waiting and searching for something that IS just right if I want it to last in my closet.
Thanks Gina...I've got a closet full of things I wasn't picky enough about. HA! I'm learning!!! XOXO
I think it's smart to really analyze the pieces. Just because this box didn't have anything that worked doesn't mean they aren't good for someone else.
I did like that embroidery top because it's such a different color!!
XOXO
Jodie
Thanks Jodie! The top was cute...just not keep it cute. LOL

Oh I love my grown up friend and her restraint! Well done you for assessing your box contents so, well, grown up like. I love the Jack Sparrow bit, it had me LOLing all over the shop!

LOL Mary! Yes, I've finally got some restraint.

I had the same result from my second box. I had asked for fall things like jackets and sweaters and they did sent one jacket, but then sent a lot of light weight tops. Some were cute, but I didn't want any more of that type of thing and the jacket wasn't my style. I returned them all too. I felt bad because some were nice enough, just not what I was looking for.

I think it might have been the stylist. I hope the next time I get a better one.

I really liked the first pieces. Those jeans looking very cute on you and I like the cranberry embroidered top. But I also appreciate that you are being discriminating about the pieces you keep.
Thanks Leslie! If those jeans had been midrise, I'd have totally kept them!!!
XOXO
I love those jeans and that embroidered top! Too bad they didn't work and you are so smart to really think through before keeping items. I need to learn from you, Jedi Master!

I wish those jeans had been mid rise. I loved the hem!!!
XOXO
I get it - things are M'kay - but yeah, not worth buying - why I like these boxes.
Laughed at the Jack Sparrow comment :)
Exactly! Thanks Rebecca Jo!!!
XO
I really love that first top that is embroidered AND those jeans! I actually love high rise jeans, but I'm not short waisted. I could see how that would make them uncomfortable. I agree, if you're not going to wear them a lot or aren't 100% in love with them, back they go!

Thanks Carrie! I'm sure high waisted jeans work much better on you than me. Happy Monday!!!
