Only Two More Fridays

Okay friends, here’s the point where we all need time to slow waaaay down. We’ve got our decorations up, we’re getting the shopping done, running around doing all the things, and there are only two more Fridays before Christmas. I just want to be able to enjoy the month of December without feeling rushed. Take it all in. Sit, look at my tree, drink a hot cup of something with a little sweet treat. How about you?

It wouldn’t be Friday if I didn’t link up for

I shared my new found love of the Living Proof products last Friday. Well those aren’t the only hair products I’m using and loving. With all of this hair, I need a lot of products. LOL

I recently read that you should use a clarifying shampoo about twice a month. It gets rid of all the build up from all the products we use. It’s also a good idea to do at least two washings, one right after the other. Have you ever noticed that if you do this, the second wash really foams up? This Kenra clarifying shampoo is what I’ve been using, and yep, you guessed it. I like it.

I’ve used this before and decided to give it another go. It’s kind of like a mousse, but goes on directed right at the roots. This comes highly recommended in the beauty blogging world, and I do feel like it helps give my roots some oomph.

I’m double teaming the oomph factor by adding this Blofoam. It’s also a root lifter as well as a texturizer. So I guess technically I’m double teaming that too with the Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast. Using both of these really is making a difference in how quickly my hair [doesn’t] goes flat. When you have heavy hair like I do, it takes some real effort to keep it “volumized”.

One of the main reasons I wanted a light colored sofa was so I could switch out my throw pillows seasonally. I’m slowly but surely collecting pillow covers so I can do just that. Most of my Christmas ones have come from Pottery Barn. Some are still in stock and some are from last year.

I also switched out my cozy blanket for a festive red one. Katie carried it upstairs while she was home and held it hostage. HA! These make great gifts. I gave one to Benny & Erin last Christmas, and I gave Katie one for her birthday. Everybody loves them.

Y’all probably remember back in the spring I was sharing Simply Earth Essential Oils. You can find one of those posts here and it links to others. Their subscription service has become so popular that often times they run out of the monthly boxes for first time subscribers. Well they came up with an idea of a starter box. No more waiting. If the monthly box is sold out by the time you sign up, you’ll get the NEW starter box sent to you until you receive your first monthly subscription box the following month. How great is that?

The starter box is just like the other monthly boxes as far as what you receive. You get 4 individual oils, recipes, and the extra components it takes to make them. All of this for only $39. All subscriptions also come with a Bonus Box that contains amber colored roller bottles, solid coconut oil, almond oil, beeswax and a few other things. (value $40) Read on…I’ve got a great code for you.?

These subscription boxes would make a great Christmas gift for anyone who’s been interested in EO’s, but doesn’t know where to begin. I think they’d also be great for homeschoolers, scout troops, or having projects to do with your kids that don’t involve screen time, provide learning and together time all at once. (think snow days, mom)

The starter box comes with the components to make a Sleepy Roll On, and who doesn’t sometimes need a little help with sleep?

You will also get to make your own Lemon Meringue lip balm. I love making the lip balms. There was another version of these in one of my other boxes.

If you’re interested in trying the Simply Earth subscription box for yourself or to give as a gift, use my code “COASTTOCOAST2FREE” and receive a $40 gift card. Use it on a future box, a diffuser, or anything else on the Simple Earth website.

Did you catch my Holiday Cards Made Easy post earlier this week? Or my What I Wore for Our Family Pictures post? Spoiler alert: they’re kinda related?

I’d love it if you’d sign up to receive my posts by email. Just scroll back up to the top and fill in the box on the left above my picture. I’d also love it if you’d follow me on Instagram too. I share on my stories things that aren’t on here.

I am pillows crazy and I love all of yours! And I love you sweet friend, may you have a sweet and festive weekend!

  • Where did this month go? It just started and I feel like I'm way behind! I love swapping out pillow covers too! Such an easy way to change the look of a room. Those PB covers are adorable! Have a wonderful weekend!

  • I'll have to Pin the uplifting foam for when my mousse runs out. Ha-my youngest is famous for commandeering the throw--I have to wash it afterword since it smells so much of her perfume!

  • OH MY WORD -I honestly didnt even realize there were only 2 more Fridays!!! That just made my heart stop a little bit!!!

  • Another fun round of favorites! I love your holiday pillow covers....it kind of matches my new scarf! I guess if my scarf doesn't work out I can always turn it into a festive pillow! Haha!

  • Well, may have to try that Blofoam. My hair is soooo heavy, thick and course. Have a very Christmasey weekend!

  • Your holiday pillow covers are so fun! We just got a new couch that is much lighter and I'm excited to more easily switch up decor! I don't think I have ever tried a deep cleansing shampoo. I might have to give it a shot!

    • Thanks Laura! Oh you should definitely try a clarifying shampoo. My mom was a hairdresser and I remember her talking about it. XO
