Hey y’all! Well today I’m traveling back to California after a fun filled week with my people in Nashville. I had the best time staying in Katie’s apartment. She’s a wonderful little hostess. Today I’ve got some more great pieces from XCVI (and a code) to share with you. Let me introduce the perfect little black skirt, and WUW. An abbreviated version of What’s Up Wednesday and our Style Six link up.
Just like a LBD, every woman’s closet should probably have a black skirt. How about the perfect little black skirt? I think I’ve found it. This one is the perfect length. Not too long, not too short. It has ruching all the way around that adds not only visual interest, but hides wrinkles and any unsightly bumps. #youknowwhatimtalkinabout It has about a 3 inch wide stretchy waist band, so it’s a pull on style and absolutely so comfortable. It’s going to be perfect for seasonal changes as well as all summer long. If you wanted to carry it into winter, you could easily add black tights and boots or booties, to make it a year round piece. For size reference I’m wearing a medium….I could possibly have gone with a small, but was afraid it would be too tight.
To go with it, I chose this darling mixed media shell. The front is 100% linen and the back is 100% jersey cotton. It’s absolutely as cute as can be. It has an almost peplum in the back made of the same linen. I love a v-neck and this one has one. Not only does it look so cute with this skirt, but it will look super cute with white jeans, lots of shorts or blue jeans. I think it will also look cute with my first pair of pants I got from XCVI. You can see those here. This one is a small, but it’s pretty big under the arms, so I’m exchanging it for an XS.
