Hey friends!!!! Happy Friday to you. Yesterday when I was thinking about what to share today, I had a lightbulb moment. It was like a 40 watt, but a lightbulb moment, none the less. HA! How about a Friday Favorites Traveling Edition? I’ll tell you one thing. I never in a million years thought I’d be traveling the way I do, but moves and distance have made it a necessary part of my (our) life. There are a few key pieces that always travel with me, and now with COVID, there’s at least one other addition to those. Lucky you, the big favorites are on SALE! It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas…I mean it is almost Halloween. ?
This photo sums up my travel style.
For several years now, I’ve carried a Barrington Tote on every single trip. I have two of the St. Anne Totes, and they are the perfect size for carrying all the things, and still being able to fit under the seat in front of you.
If you look inside my tote, you’ll find:
-computer
-iPad
-bag with chargers/earbuds (Airpods)
-Ziploc with masks (thanks COVID)
-Wet Ones (these I carried way before Rona hit)
-Clorox Wipes
-Tissues
-Snacks
-Drink (once I get through security, I stop and get a drink in a bottle)
And because I definitely don’t believe in traveling light, (HA!) I also carry a purse, which for the last year has been my Madewell tote. If I haven’t yet convinced you that you neeeed one, I’m failing as an influencer. Bahaha! #butseriously AND it’s on sale!
Also, how about the lovely airport bathroom photo? Total quality here. The Oakland airport does not have full length mirrors. I guess they just assume no one wants a good mirror selfie. LOL
My current favorite masks are these by Kitsch. The first time I saw them I thought they looked soft and comfortable, and they are. The ear elastics don’t hurt. #allthepraisehands The fabric is soft, and breathable…as breathable as a face mask can be. OH and did I mention they’re some of the cutest ones I’ve seen? You know how I feel about that.
I’ve talked about travel attire what feels like a gazillion times, so I’ll keep this part brief.
C O M F O R T is key for this traveler. Since most of my trips are almost “Coast to Coast” ? I have to be comfortable. This often means my Spanx leggings. It also means a layer for warmth. Even in this stage of life (ahem) I still get cold on planes, and I’m here to tell you that freezing on a plane for hours is NO FUN. #lessonlearned This trip, my new ruana from Target did the trick. For several years, it was one of my Barefoot Dreams sweaters that made the trips with me, but the last few years I’ve switched to some sort of poncho/wrap style. They’re easy to throw on over anything, easy to take off for TSA screening, and kind of like wearing a blanket.
So what am I missing? Do you travel with even more than I do?
Anthropologie is having 25% off EVERYTHING with FREE shipping, and that includes new items. I also didn’t realize they sold things like my all time favorite hair dryer that I am missing terribly on my trip. I didn’t realize just how fantastic it was until I had to use others. I usually bring it, but in the interest of space and weight, I left it at home. My new favorite hair towel is also available on sale, along with Living Proof hair products. Here are just a few of the things that made my heart skip a beat.
Have a great weekend!
