Hey friends! This may seem like a weird thing to say, but that was a long two day weekend. HA! Last week seemed long, and the weekend did too. Crazy! Today I’ve got a Macy’s try on for you. I went in a couple of weeks ago and updated the ‘Coast to Coast’ area to give it a Valentine’s vibe. I went with pinks and a splash of red for the month of L❤️VE.

Basics! I think we can all agree that some pieces fall into this category and round out our closets. However, if you happen to find a basic that has some fun detail to amp it up, then that’s a major score. This black tee shirt falls right into that column. Check out the sleeves. They are AH-DORABLE. If the sleeves aren’t enough, let me just say that the fabric is super soft, just the right thickness and stretchy. So basically I’m saying it’s the perfect tee, and it comes in other colors. #score

The jeans I’m wearing are also really, really good. These and the black pair I’m sharing are both Hudson, and I love the fit and feel of them. If you’re considering a pair of premium denim, I’d recommend giving these a shot.

Annnd, here’s another closet staple. Again, check out these cute sleeves. They are different from the tee above, but equally as cute, and the this tee is the slub look, so it can be dressed down or up a little thanks to the cuteness on the sleeves.

I wasn’t expecting to feel this way, but I feel totally in love with this little striped one. It’s seriously just adorable, thanks again to the cute tiny puff sleeve detail. It has almost a teeny tiny shoulder pad in it, and I am not going to lie, this girl has always had a thing for shoulder pads. #notkidding I used to put shoulder pads in my regular old t-shirts back in the day.

These black jeans are also Hudson, and I feel the same way about them as the above blue pair. They are really good. They’re stretchy and comfy, and I like the cut of them. I have on my normal size, but I might would size up. I’d probably get both sizes, and wear my regular size around the house for a few hours to see how much they stretch out. That’s kind of my MO a lot of times when I’m deciding between two sizes.

This is where we all need to put our imaginations to use. This leopard cardigan is very light weight, and the picture does not do it justice in the least, not to mention the tee under it is basically awful. It was too low cut for no shirt, and with things being the way they are (masks and all) running in and out of the dressing room to look for additional pieces just wasn’t practical. So you’ll have to take my word for it when I say it really is cute. A cream or blush colored cami under it would be precious.

Funny story. The girl I work with at Macy’s wanted to cringe when I talked about mixing red and pink. She’s not a fan, but I think the two go together in such a fun way. So the red sweater made the cut to go with all the pink you’re about to see. HA! This sweater! This sweater is fabulous. I’m a huge fan of the boxy cute, and it’s a faux fur that is just so fun. It looks cute with everything. Don’t you agree?

The next two sweaters are from the same maker and they’re the exact same style, just different designs. Both are super cute and versatile, as you can see. With all three of these sweaters, I wanted to show you the different ways to style them to get the most bang for you buck.

The jacket in the middle picture is also insanely soft, and a great alternative to a fleece jacket. It’s a slightly different texture that is as already stated, super duper soft.

I couldn’t decide which I liked more, the Amour sweater or the striped one, so they both went into the Coast to Coast area. If you are in need of a basic white layering blouse, this one is by Tommy Hilfiger. It has a contrast trim in the collar and cuffs for a little added detail. It’s great to wear under sweaters or it can stand on it’s own. I think a black leather jacket would be cute layered over these looks too.

My Coast to Coast sign was missing, from where things had to be moved around, so I’m hopeful the next time I’m back in the store, it will be back up. Tell me what you think of this collection in the comments, and what your favorite piece(s) are.

When I go into work on this, I take a rolling rack around, gather the pieces I’m interested in and then try them on to make sure they are actually things I’d wear. It’s a lot of fun to see it all come together.

You can shop all of these pieces here, and quite a few of them are on sale.

If you want to see the other posts I’ve done with Macy’s you can find them here, here and here.
