Four Swimsuits for Women Over 50

Happy Friday friends!!! Well with the first official day of summer being next Sunday (which is also Father’s Day), now is when the swimsuit hunt is really on. I haven’t braved a swimsuit post yet, but today I’m sharing four swimsuits for women over 50. I’m sharing them with a sarong on because the last thing I want floating around the internet is pictures of myself in swimsuits. You know what I mean?

SWIMSUITS FOR WOMEN OVER 50

Three of these I ordered from Amazon, and one is a high-end suit. They are all one piece suits, and they are all good options. I’ll share a few details you might want with each one. I’m wearing a medium or size 8 in all of them. I always size up in swimsuits. In case you haven’t already heard me say, I think of my body type as being a slight pear shape. My suits are normally tankinis. That’s the style that fits me best and I’m the most comfortable in. I especially like the easy of when you have to go to the bathroom and have on separates. I decided for this post to go with one piece styles, since those are currently trending.

Give me all the ruffles! Seriously, I do love a good ruffle. They are sweet and feminine. I loved this suit…the only problem was it was a little too “cheeky” for me. If you have a smaller backside, this would be a very viable option. It’s well made, and the deep “V” is very figure flattering and slightly sexy, so it checks all the boxes. It comes in a wide variety of colors and prints, and I think at the beach you could wear it with jean shorts and a kimono right out to dinner.

This colorblock suit is another good one. I’ve been looking at it for a while. It comes in a lot of color options and prints too. It has removable pads, but I don’t know why you’d take them out. The coverage on the backside is pretty good. This suit seems to run a little big, but I’d be afraid to size down because I think the bottom would be too scant for me.

I obviously tend to gravitate towards black suits. They are universally flattering in my humble opinion. This one also seems to run just a little big, but the coverage on the backside is pretty good. There is a clear mesh between the stripes, and I think this suit is very classy looking.

Okay, this suit is a prime example of you get what you pay for. This suit is from Miracle Suit, so it’s definitely pricey, but they are know for making you look 10 lbs lighter in 10 seconds. Mission accomplished. HA! This suit is so well made. The fabric is phenomenal, and it completely covers the bottom. The way Miracle Suit suits are made is 100% quality. (I have another suit I’m going to share in a post of it’s own.) The front cross over is secured and there is no danger of any “malfunction”, and it has adjustable straps in the back. I will warn you, getting into one of these suits might count as your workout for the day. LOL

The sarong I’m wearing comes in a lot of colors and a few different lengths/styles. It’s very lightweight and perfect for throwing on over a swimsuit to go from your hotel room/condo to the pool or beach. I like to have a cute cover up for modesty when we vacation. I’m going to be sharing some more cover up ideas in a future post.

SHOPS THESE FOUR SWIMSUITS FOR WOMEN OVER 50

Two of my favorite swimsuit retailers are SOMA and TARGET. I have purchased most of my suits from these two, but NORDSTROM, MACY’S and DILLARD’S have good swim departments as well. Macy’s is currently having their ‘Friends and Family’ sale and swimsuits are 30% off.

What’s your preference as far as style goes in swimwear? Are you a one piece, tankini or bikini lover?

SOMA is where all of my bras are from and they are having a ONE DAY SALE. All bras are 3 for $99. The Enbliss Bralette is my current favorite style. I wear one everyday and have had so many people buy them and send me messages about how much they love them.

Tomorrow Kent and I are headed to Nashville. We closed on our new townhouse Tuesday, so I’m eager to get there and start working on it. We are having the interior repainted and replacing all the flooring. If you are new here, we’ve recently purchased a place where our daughter will live full time while finishing PA school, and I’m going to start spending a lot of time there until Kent is ready to retire in a few years. Make sure you’re following along on Instagram because I’m planning to share the process there. I’ll be shopping for furniture and accessories, so this will be fun.

If you missed the other posts this week, you see Monday’s post where I shared the cutest eyelet blouse here, and Wednesday’s Father’s Day Gift Guide post here.

  • I love them, especially the black ones. Safe travels tomorrow, can’t wait to follow along.

    • Thanks so much Andrea!!! We have to get up at 2:30 AM for our flight. We should probably just sleep in the car in the parking lot. LOL

  • Welcome to Tennessee. We live in Nolensville which is just outside of Nashville. We retired here 5 years ago and love it! Will follow your journey here, hope you love it as much as we do.

    • Thanks so much Terri!!! This has been a long time coming. (Now to get to the finish line when we can be there full time) Both of our kids live there and I went to college in Nashville, so it's really almost like coming home.❤️ If you ever see me...make sure you say hey!!! Crazier things have happened. XOXO

    • Thanks Heather! It's hard to beat a black swimsuit. They are so flattering...and cover a multitude of sins. HA!

  • All the swimsuits look fabulous on you! Can’t wait to see the work you do on the condo. Make sure to share the before pictures. Have fun!

    • Thanks Patti!! I'm planning to film a walk through before we start. This may sound a little crazy, but I'm nervous. We've built all three of our homes, so I've never had to go in after someone moved out. LOL
      XOXO

  • I love the black halterneck with the stripes - it's so different! Miracle suits look great but as you say they're a pain to pull on or off (particularly when you're in a hurry for the bathroom!). And their patterns are a little old-fashioned to me.

    • Thanks Gail! I totally get you on the MiracleSuit. I would have gotten solid black...but I have so many. LOL

  • We moved back to Nashville recently after 19 years in Atlanta. Congrats on your condo purchase! I enjoy your blog and hope I run into sometime around town :)

    • I hope so too! That would be so fun. My brother leaves in Sharpsburg, and I love visiting there. Both of our kids live in Nashville, and I went to college there, so it's kinda like coming home. XOXO

  • I loved the way you styled this- I too still can't show myself on the internet in a bathing suit- full view lol! But in reality, you've just proven that all that really needs to look great is the top part! And you've also shown how great they all look worn with a skirt cover up...or maybe even with a real skirt (like wearing a bodysuit). I love, love that black criss-cross one. Have a great weekend xx

    • Thanks Lucy!!! I did them with demin shorts at first, but went back and retook the pics with the sarong. I think you are absolutely right about using them as a jumpsuit type piece of clothing. I thought the same thing. XO

  • HOT Mama!!!! I love that first one with the deep V! but of course you look great in all of them!
