Let’s talk Favorites this Week

Good Friday morning friends!!! Let’s talk favorites this week. Aye-yai-yai! Here’s what’s not a favorite. I wrote this post yesterday and scheduled it, and then I worked on some stuff on my blog and POOF it disappeared. Seriously y’all, sometimes I really think giving a middle aged woman this much technology is like giving a toddler all the ingredients for a recipe and no instructions. I mean can you even imagine what that would look like? So anyway, here we go again.

I’ve shared this Tula Brightening Primer on Instagram a couple of times recently. I’m using it under my eyes, on my nose and over my lip. It really just kind of smooths and blurs those areas giving you a good ‘canvas’ for your makeup. The best way to describe it is like a veil over your skin. I happen to have a Tula code for 15% off if you’d like to try it. Use code COASTTOCOAST to purchase anything on the site.

Last year I received a box of Revive Superfoods smoothies and really liked them. If you’ve been around a while, you may even remember that. Well they offered me another box recently and I jumped at the chance. They’ve even added oats and some soups to the mix, and I got one of each of those to try. I made one on IG stories this week and shared my method. I follow the instructions on the cup, but I also add some non-fat vanilla Greek yogurt to mine. I use about 1/3 – 1/2 a cup with almond milk as the liquid. These make for a great quick, easy and nutritious breakfast, lunch or snack. I especially like them in summer when it’s hot, and they are cool and creamy and more like a treat. I use my Ninja to mix them (which does such a great job…if you want a VitaMix without the hefty price, try this). You can just pour the smoothie right back in the cup, put the lid on, and they even send a straw in the box that fits the hole in the lid. So easy!!! Use my code rsf50coasttocoast2 for 50% off your own box.

Let’s talk sunscreen. There are a lot of great options out there, and Supergoop is one of them. I have the re-setting spray and love it. You can apply it over makeup or alone and it’s so stinkin’ easy. It’s great when you forget or want to touch up during the day. I’m obviously not the only person who feels like this, because it’s currently sold out, but you can get a little one in the Head to Toe kit which is a great way to try 3 of the most popular products. The Unseen is one of the products I’m going to order, and I’ve heard the Play is great for kids. It’s doesn’t sting and burn like some others. All of the Supergoop are reef freindly, paraben-free, synthetic-fragrance-free, oxybenzone-free, and cruelty-free. What more could you ask for? They are having their once a summer 20% off sale, so if you want to try it or need to restock, now is the time. The other product in my cart is the re-setting powder. I want to have that for knocking down the shine during the day, and upping the sun protection on my face.

As I looked back at my outfits this week, I saw a pattern. Apparently I’m a huge fan of white and denim. Not really that big of a shock. HA! All of these pieces are great closet staples. The white v-neck tank is from Loft last year, but I’ve found an almost identical one that comes in a bunch of colors. (I also have it in gray). The cropped jeans are one of my favorites this year and so are the wide leg. You’ve probably already picked up on that as often as you see them. The white eyelet top is just darling. The sleeves make it so special, and of course my Tory Burch Millers are one of my most worn pairs of sandals. I have them in 3 colors, just in case you’re wondering if I really think they’re worth the splurge. YES!

OKAY, here’s the last but certainly not least. I’ve shared on (where else) Instagram that we’ve bought a townhouse in Nashville. YAHOOOO! Katie will live in it full time, and I’m going to start living there in it about half the time until Kent is ready to retire. It’s no secret I’ve been dying to get back to the Southeast closer to friends and family, and slowly but surely we are getting there. My car left this week to make it’s way there. Kent works close to our house (once he goes back into the office) so we can share a car with no problem. I can just run him to the office if I want a car that day. Renting cars is expensive and this way since I’ll be there about every other month, that won’t be an issue. You might not really understand what we’re doing, but trust me when I tell you that God has prepared a way for us, and this is part of it. I’ve been praying about it for years.

I’ll be sharing this journey on my IG stories, so I’d love for you to follow along. We’re going to have the entire interior repainted, and all the flooring replaced. I’m going to be painting the bathroom cabinets, and of course furnishing it from top to bottom. It should be a lot of fun (and work). I’ll share the process and resources as we go. Wish me luck!!!

If you missed Wednesday’s post, it was the top 5 sellers of May. You can read that here.

So once again, that’s a wrap for talking about favorites this week. TAKE 2. Have a wonderful weekend friends!!!

  • The husband and I have been living in our townhouse (close to Des Moines, Iowa)for seven years and love it! We have such nice neighbors. I’m glad you found one you like.

  • First of all, I am so very sorry about the blog technical issues. I’ve been there so I get it, our brains should not have to deal with this, LOL! Why oh why do I not accept the invitation to try those shakes? They’ve asked me a couple times but if you love them, I bet I would too! I am just over the moon about your Nashville adventures! So excited to see the progress on the townhouse and trust me when I say I totally understand how you’re feeling and how very important this is to your overall health and life and it’s such a great step. Big Hugs And fingers and toes and toes crossed for no more technical difficulties

    • Well obviously I've got more technical issue to deal with LOL
