Friday Favorites on a Monday

I had this post all drafted up to do on Friday, but just didn’t have time to finish it, so how about Friday Favorites on a Monday? I have been traveling almost all summer. I guess technically about 6 weeks wasn’t really travel since I was in Nashville and I will be spending about half my time there form here on out, but I wasn’t in our townhouse yet, so it wasn’t like I was settled.

Having the new place in Nashville is definitely topping the favorites list, and I will share a detailed post on what we did, what I’ve been purchasing and all that jazz in the next week or so.

I was in Utah the last 4 Tuesday -Friday with these girls and that is undoubtedly a favorite. Again, a post on all of our shenanigans will be coming your way soon.

I am not a reader….I repeat, I am not a reader. I do however like to read when we are on vacation and I’m sitting on the beach or by the pool. This time I even read on all of our flights. Reading typically puts me straight to sleep. I’ve never enjoyed reading, and I come by that honestly. Neither my dad or brother like reading. Now my mom, she used to love a good book. (she’s just kinda stopped reading though). The kids (Erin & Benny) gave me 28 Summers by Elin Hilderbrand for Christmas and I saved it for vacation. They know she’s one of my favorite authors and this book was a good read. Highly recommend.

I finished it about halfway through the week and so I had brought a back up. Anxious People by Fredrik Backman. I’d read A Man Called One a few years back and liked it. I’m finding his books drag for a while and then about halfway in, they pick up. So just stick with it if you decided to try it. I was told this one was funny, and it’s was a little humorous, but I find his writing to be more on the sad side. (I’m really selling it, aren’t I? HA!)

Now let’s talk about this crossbody bag. I was sent this bag by Social Threads and thrilled about it.  I had been wanting one and was waiting for a sale (which honestly pretty much never happens on them because they sell out without a sale) I carried on vacation and my trip to Utah. It’s the perfect bag. It holds just enough while at the same time forcing me not to be a pack mule (as I’m apt to do). I ordered another strap in leopard. #bigsurprise And as you’d expect, I love it. Next up, I want to get one in black.

Of course I have to add spending time with these goofballs, two of my favorites. We had the best time on our vacation with just the three of us. We for sure missed Benny & Erin, but it was so chill just hanging with Katie. We know these days are growing very small in number and we try to totally take advantage of any opportunity to spend time with her.

Did you know green and blue M&M’s are my favorite? LOL This drives Katie completely bonkers. I had gotten a bag for Kent and I to share on our flight, so I took this picture and sent it to Katie. #palmtoforheadfromher

One last thing. All the traveling I’m doing just reinforces my love for packing cubes. If you haven’t gotten on the bandwagon yet…what are you waiting for? Seriously, these are a real game changer for travel. The only downside is that you can fit so much more in your suitcase with them you have to watch the weight. #consideryourselfwarned

So how was that for Friday Favorites on a Monday? Maybe I should start doing Monday Favorites. Nah…let’s stick with what we know. HA! Have a fabulous weekend friends. I’m going to stay put for a few weeks before heading back to Nashville.

Y’all are the best!!!

  • Too funny about the M&Ms. Reading used to put me to sleep too, but then I got back into it. Love the bag and can't wait to hear about your trip.

  • I have those same packing cubes and just used them for our trip last moth; I loved them! I too like Backman's books but do find them a bit slow and sad.

  • Love this post and the picture of all 5 ladies on the steps. Appreciate your work! BTW, the white stripe WHBM dress looks lovely on you.

    • Thank you so much Stacey! Fridays post is going to be all about the skincare we received for our trip. XO

  • Oh My Goodness! I got the "big" leg jeans from J.Crew. I thought,,,can I wear those,?I'm 5'4' on petite side sometimes, sometimes not. Anyway, I ordered them thinking if they didn't work, I could return. They are wonderful! Thank you for sharing.
