Summers Not Over Yet

That’s right, summers not over yet. Y’all know this girl loves her some summer and I won’t let go until I the very last second. We spent a G L O R I O U S week at the beach, and soaked up sand, sun, books, food, and more ice cream than should be legally allowed. My pants were loose when we got there and tight when we left. I guess that means vacation was a success?! #youonlyliveonce

Before we left I received several items from Cabana Life. If you’re not familiar with them, they are a company started by two (young) women. One of them received the diagnosis of melanoma and that forever changed their relationship with the sun. They knew something was missing in the clothing market…CUTE clothing that included sun protection. All of their pieces have UPF 50+ (ultraviolet protection factor) built in that protects your skin from 98% of the suns harmful UVA/UVB rays. Ladies, just let me say…mission accomplished. They managed to craft cute and protect into the same piece of clothing.

One of the pieces I was gifted was this adorable terrycloth cover up. I received a similar one last year that became my favorite, and now this one is bumping it out of the way. Not only do I love the style, but since the fabric is terry, it’s like putting the perfect lightweight towel on over your wet suit. I mean, really…genius. It’s the grown up version of those cute hooded character towels we use when the kids are babies. HA!

This is the cover up from last year, and it managed to find its way into my suitcase this year too. 😉 I mean seriously, the details like the fringe on the bottom and beautiful embroidery just make me happy. This one also matches one of my new suits perfectly.

You can see all my looks from Cabana Life last year here.

And speaking of swimsuits. I can’t tell you the last time I wore a one piece, so that alone should tell you how special this one is. Dang it! I should have taken a picture of the back. The straps are on point. Here’s what I absolutely adore about the Cabana Life swimwear, the coverage on the bum is spot on! I hate when they are “cheeky”. I am too old, for that, and have a little too much “junk in the trunk”. The top/front also is cute perfectly. Just enough to be modest, but not so much that you feel old lady. You know what I mean? This is the first time I’ve gotten suits from them, but I can promise you it won’t be the last.

The palazzo pants are also Cabana Life which means they have the built in UPF, and they are made of a fabric that feels like the swimsuits, so they are perfect for the beach/pool and dry quickly. You can also easily layer them over a fancier suit for streetwear. Check out this photo to see what I mean.

I have been a tankini girl pretty much since they showed up on the scene. I mean they are basically the perfect suit. The coverage of a one piece with the convenience of a bikini. There is nothing worse than trying to get a wet bathing suit pulled back up on a sunscreen covered, sand dusted body. HA!

For the last 5 or so years I wear a straw hat to try and protect my face. This one has, you guessed it, built in UPF. So not only am I protecting my skin (and hair), I look chic doing it. See the little side band? That holds your sunglasses in place if you put them up on your hat. #genius I didn’t even realize what that was for the first year. #palmtoforehead

The last piece I want to share is this cute dress that could be street wear or another cover up. Again, it’s also made of a material very similar to the swimsuit material. It’s cool, stretchy, comfy and has pockets.

Alrighty then, that about does it. If this doesn’t convince you to take a shot and try some of the pieces from Cabana Life I don’t know what will. I wasn’t paid to write this post, and while I was very lucky and gifted these pieces I didn’t even have to share them on the blog but because I truly love them, I wanted to tell YOU about them.

I’ll say it again, summers not over yet, but until next vacation, I’ll be longing for the salt water and sand (not really the sand…I love looking it at it, but I don’t like being in it. LOL)

  • It sounds like you had a fabulous week at the beach and I am loving all these cabana life products you picked out!

  • I totally agree that we have to enjoy every single minute of summer. It’s truly my favorite season! And it appears you had an amazing week! All of these pieces are super cute. I really love the banded neckline on the two suits. Adorable. I actually lost 5 pounds in Hawaii!!! Don’t ask me how. Especially after all the Mai Tais! Of course, they all found their way back. Ugh.

    • Isn't that the BEST when that happens. You would love these suits Darlene. They have your name all over them!!! XO

  • Is it bad that we have only been in school for 2 weeks and we are already counting down the days until Summer Break???
