Friday Favorites Home Decor

Hey there friends! Happy Friday! Today is October 1st! Here we go y’all…we are diving head first into fall. I’ve been so busy buying all the things for our townhouse, it’s like it’s my job. I guess it kinda is. For Friday Favorites I thought I’d share some of the home decor I’ve been purchasing. It’s definitely coming together, but it sure takes time. I wish I could say it’s all linkable, but unfortunately for the most part it’s not.

Finding furniture seems like it would be easy and fun, but it’s really not. HA! It’s kinda stressful. You find things and then you have to wait for it to all come in, and it’s so hard to know how it will really look in the room you have it planned for. I’m not impulsive, in fact I’m probably the opposite, somewhat of an over-thinker. I have a hard time pulling the trigger, and it’s not like you can just throw it in the car and take it back. Anyway, I’ve been pulling that so called trigger left and right.

Curtains were easy. I already have this same style in our CA house, so I ordered them in two colors for different rooms in the TN place.

These are in our bedroom and they are the taupe and off white. They are fully lined, and very well made. The fabric is nice and thick and for the price you can’t beat them…obviously I think that since I’m up to 3 sets.

This is the same style in gray and an off-white, that I got for the kitchen. I do love a stripe. The tape on the floor is where we were marking out how big the table we were looking at would be.

This is the table. I love the warm gray tones. It’s a 60″, and that’s as large as we could go in this space, but I want to be able to sit 5-6 people. And why are tables so expensive? LOL This one is being delivered on my birthday…Happy Birthday to me!🎉

Chairs! I’ve spent who knows how long on the computer looking at different styles of chairs. I knew exactly what I wanted, but matching the wood was very challenging. Here is the style of chair I wanted, and then the second plaid chair is what I have ordered. I think the plaid will look good with the stripe. Mixing patterns in home decor is just as important as in fashion, and using 3 patterns seems to be the best. Using a stripe, a floral and a geometric are a good rule of thumb in home decor. The plaid chair is from Kirklands, and the other you can find lots of places.

Rugs! I need a rug for under the kitchen table, and I also want a runner for the little hall/foyer and I want them to match. I’ve got a different rug in the living area that will be kind of between them, so I’m looking at the muted more subtle patterns. Here’s what I ordered, and then underneath you can shop the ones I was considering.

THIS RUG

Did you catch Monday and Wednesday’s posts? Monday was Wearing Orange in Fall, and Wednesday I shared September’s Top Sellers.

That’s a wrap for this weeks Friday Favorites home decor my friends. Tomorrow Kellyann and Shelly are coming in for a visit. Make sure you follow us on Instagram and see what we get into. You can be sure there will be lots of food and laughter.

Have a great weekend!

  • I find furniture and home decor shopping stressful. It took me forever to pull together our living room when we bought new furniture. Even lamps were a nightmare. All of this looks so good together.

  • Love all your picks! I was surprised how much furniture/rugs I could find online when we refurnished our house! So convenient. Hope y'all have a fun weekend!

  • You are so brave to order furniture items online!! I find shopping for furniture very stressful and we always have a difficult time making decisions. That’s due to the possible hassle of having to return, etc. I hope all your beautiful picks work out just like you hope! Have a fun weekend with your gal pals.

  • Oof, why is furniture so expensive?? I have no sense for interior decorating. My dad is much more artistic (he was an art student in college!), buuut he is a "measure 17 times and think about cutting" type of person. I think he's been looking for a rug for the past 10 years! And I'm just like "what do we need a rug for anyway?" HAHA! Hope you're doing well, Blog Mom! xoxox

  • Lisa, I'm loving the home decor here! I can't wait to see the table and chairs in you condo! CUTE!

  • I have a very similar rug in my sun room and living room and love it! Can't wait to see the room come together!

  • Do you have a spam problem on this site; I also am a
blogger, and I was wondering your situation; we have developed
some nice practices and we are looking to exchange solutions with other folks, please
shoot me an email if interested.
