Get Ready for the Sun

Hi friends! It’s time to get ready for the sun, and one of the best ways to do that is with having the right clothing. Did you know some clothing has built in UPF? What’s UPF? Ultraviolet Protection Factor. UPF applies to textiles, while SPF is applied directly to the skin. I bet you didn’t know you’d be learning all of this today. HA!

This cute little shift dress is the perfect “sun dress”. Not only does it have the built in UPF, but it’s easy breezy for daily wear or vacation wear. Wear it as a dress for lunch or dinner out.

It also makes a great swimsuit cover up. The fabric is soft, and feels almost like a swimsuit fabric, so it dries quickly if you put it on over a wet suit or are out on a boat and get wet.

I added these cute accessories in the form of a hat and woven bag, both from Cabana Life as well. Guess what? The hat also has built in UPF. I started wearing hats with built in UPF at the beach last year as a double layer of protection for my face. I went through a series of laser treatments last year to get rid of sun damage, and I’m trying my hardest to keep it from coming back. I’m diligent about not being out in the sun without SPF on my face.
