Okay, have you heard the term “Coastal Grandmother”? It’s floating around the fashion world, and everyone is sharing their take on it. I figured I better get in on this, so today I’m sharing my take on Coastal Grandmother style.
What makes the Coastal Grandmother style? I think it gets it roots from Diane Keaton in the movie “Something’s Gotta Give”. She has an easy, breezy style that’s casual and for the most part very neutral. It looks effortless and put together, not mention comfortable. The best place to start this look is with the ever popular gauzy fabric that’s been around over a year now. I personally love this fabric, but you probably already know that.
These pieces are the definition of Coastal Grandmother. They are both made out of the gauze material, and I have to say it’s some of the best quality gauze I’ve ever had on. They are both really soft, and feel good against your skin.
To achieve this style, just think beachy and relaxing. Easy to wear pieces that are comfortable and breathable.
These sandals are also perfect for this fashion theme. These are VAN Eli shoes. I learned this is pronounced Va-Nell-ie. My mom and I have been mispronouncing it for years. These shoes are a designer brand and they are available in narrow widths. That’s why we’ve been fans. We both have narrow fee. My dad actually introduced me to the term "coastal grandmother" not long ago and is very amused by it! We've seen It's Complicated and The Holiday about a million times--same director and aesthetic as Something's Gotta Give!
