Hi friends! Happy Monday to you. I’m in CA for the week with Kent. Yesterday it was surprisingly cool and even rained. So weird around here. Today I want to tell you, you need this sweater. I have the same sweater without the pearls in white, and love it. It is such a soft knit, and so easy to wear. I’m so happy to have this one in my closest. It is going to take me through the entire fall and winter seasons.
You can see it looks so cute with a pair of distressed jeans. The feminine feel of the pearls pair beautifully with the subtle distressing on the jeans. Distressed jeans are a great way to counter balance a piece that could be considered dressier. They have a relaxed feel and fun vibe. While I know they aren’t for everyone, I really love them. I was worried they were going to be fazed out in the world of fashion, but I don’t think that’s happening any time soon.
The pearls on this sweater are a really fun detail. I’ve been a sucker for pearl details as long as I can remember. When I was in college, we even wore pearls with our sweatshirts and jeans, and I remember how much I loved that look. Adding them to an otherwise simple black sweater completely amps up the look. Added to the 3/4 bell sleeves and mock boat neck on it, makes for a lot visual interest too.
What I’m most excited about with this sweater is how cute it’s going to look around the holidays. You can pair it with a pair of black pants, or faux leather pants or joggers for a night out or a holiday party. It will be an easy and effortless look that will get noticed. If you want to add some color, just carry a fun bag. I think my Brahmin bag would be a great compliment to this.
So….what do you think? Do you need this sweater? It’s going to be a lifesaver on those occasions when you need a little something extra without going overboard. I promise!
