Hi friends! Today I want to chat about double breasted blazers, but first, I hope your weekend was as wonderful as mine. I got to spend time with so many people I dearly love and celebrated my birthday. Oh, and I should mention today is mine and Kent’s 30th anniversary. How can that be? We’re still just a couple of kids.
Double breasted blazers have been around for what feels like forever, but they haven’t been trending the way I’m seeing them right now. They are making a comeback. A blazer is such a good piece to have in your closet. If you only have room for one, I’d go with a black or camel blazer. These colors are going to work with the largest variety of pieces you already own.
I recently got this double breasted brown blazer from Gibsonlook, and it’s a really fun addition to my ever growing collection. I wore blazers for workwear all the time back in the day when I worked in a bank pre-kids.

It has really been years, since I’ve worn a blazer, but this summer I decided to get on board, and now I kinda can’t stop. They are such a good completer or third piece. An outfit goes to the next level when you add that extra piece. It goes from meh, too yeah! This blazer runs true to size. I’m in a small and there is just enough room to layer a piece under it. I have one from the same brand in white in and XS, that is fine over a sleeveless top or dress, but I think would be too snug over anything else.
These jeans are from Spanx. They are good for so many reasons. The cut is on trend, and a nice change from our beloved skinnies. Skinnies aren’t “out of style”, but they are definitely taking a backseat to the straight leg and flare/boot cute styles that are everywhere. It took me a second to shift gears, but I’m loving these alternative styles.
The Spanx are so flattering. They hold you in, never stretch out (something to keep in mind when ordering), and are kind of the “Miracle Suit” of jeans. I am wearing a medium petite and have on a 3″ heel, so you can see they run long even in petite. I consistently buy medium or medium petites in all Spanx bottoms.
Fit tip: When ordering pants, read the description of the inseam. Once you learn which length fits you best, you can then decide between petite, regular or tall lengths. I know a 28″ works best on myself, so if I want them cropped, I know how to order.
