5 Ways to Wear Black During the Holidays

Hi friends! I’m doing a series of REELS this week on Instagram and I’m sharing 5 ways to wear black during the holidays. Everyday I’m showing a different outfit, and they range from casual to dressy. All black is such a classic look, and if you wear a black column (pants and top), then you can easily add a 3rd piece to change the look. If you want to read more about the power of the rule of three, read this post. A bonus is, wearing all black is very slimming. I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t want that.

Here are two variations of the same look. The first has Spanx faux leather flares for a slightly edgier dressy casual look, while the second look is just a softer and slightly more elegant version with Spanx Perfect Pant wide leg. Both ways are equally pretty, it just depends on if you’re going for a little more fun or a little more sophisticated. A blouse with sheer sleeves is a great way to show your arms without actually having to show your arms. This next look is a good compromise for when you want to be dressed up, but not too dressed up. You could wear this to any gathering and not be overdressed or underdressed, so it’s a really safe option. The faux leather joggers are chameleons when it comes to pants. You can put any kind of heel with them or a sneaker and they totally work.

Here is another example of a sheer sleeve. I can’t put my finger on what it is about a sheer sleeve that I really love, but it’s elegant and feminine with just a hint of ooo-la-la. Next up is a good example of the rule of three I mentioned earlier. I took an all black column and added this gorgeous brocade jacket. I absolutely love this look. I’ve worn this same jacket over a red dress, and another version of the black column with faux leather leggings, and sweater tunic and these cute mules.

Now for the last look. A variation on the previous look. Sticking with the faux leather leggings, I added a tunic sweater and the cutest pair of suede sneakers.
