My New Sweater Coatigan

Hi friends! Today I’m going to share my new sweater coatigan styled three ways. I’m so excited to share this piece. I’ve been looking for one since last year, and I finally found “the one”. A coatigan like this is the perfect third piece. If you aren’t familiar with the rule of three, check out this post.

On A Personal note:
Before we get to the coatigan, if you follow me on IG then you know my mom took a fall a week ago and broke her arm. I flew to Richmond Thursday to spend some time helping my dad and that’s why I went MIA on Friday. I’m staying until Thursday night. She’s having surgery Wednesday to repair the break. Unfortunately due to a fall she took 22 years ago that caused her to have shoulder replacement, this repair is going to be very challenging for the surgeon. Soooo, if this is the only post that gets published this week, you now know why.

These coatigans burst on the scene last year and were super popular. I ordered a couple and never loved one enough to keep it. I got lucky with this one and love it. It’s available in 4 colors. Camel, navy, black and light gray.

The first look is a more casual look and all three pieces are from Gibsonlook. You’ve probably figured out by now that Gibsonlook is one of my favorite brands.

The jeans are so crazy comfortable. They have a ton of stretch, and don’t get baggy, but I did size down two in the jeans. You can wear them cuffed like I have them here for a casual look, or you can turn the cuff down and wear them with a mule, flat or heel.

The white blouse is a great closet staple to have…and honestly, can you ever have too many white blouses. This one has a really cool detail on both sides. They overlap slightly, and the length is great for wearing with leggings, or you can also tuck it in and style it in a more polished way.

The sweater coatigan. It’s a super soft knit with a little body to hold it’s shape, and it’s the perfect third piece or layer.

COATIGAN || JEANS || SHIRT (CODE LISA10 ON ALL 3) || SNEAKERS

Look number two is another casual style look. You know I love my faux leather leggings all fall and winter, and the coatigan is the absolute perfect topper for this look. A denim/chambray shirt and faux leather leggings is such an easy, classic look and you can put pretty much any shoe you want with it. I did my new Cecelia New York booties, but you could do a mule, flat, Chelsea boot, western boot and what ever tickles your fancy.

FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS (USE CODE LISAXSPANX) || SIMILAR SHIRT || COATIGAN || BOOTIES

This last (fuzzy) look is a little more polished. It would b a good work wear look. The top is a new arrival from Avara, along with the jeans. The jeans are a black kick crop that are described as “cropped”, but on me they are a regular length. Not a big surprise there. They cold likely pass for workwear depending on the office environment you work in.

JEANS || BLOUSE (USE CODE COAST15 ON JEANS AND BLOUSE) || COATIGAN (CODE LISA10) || SIMILAR SHOES (USE CODE COAST10)

If you’ve been looking for a sweater coatigan, I’d say order this one quickly. I think it will be a sell out risk. Don’t forget you can use my code LISA10 for 10% off any and everything on Gibsonlook.

The 4th of July is just around the corner and that means lots of cookouts and backyard BBQ’s. There are so many fun outdoor games for July 4th, and you can order them on Amazon to get them in time. These would be fun to have set up in stations around your yard, or some of them could easily be carried to a park if you’re gathering there.

I’ve seen several of these in use at the beach as well. Big kids/young adults and even older adults sometimes enjoy having something to do when spending an entire day on the beach.

GIANT WOODEN YARD DICE – You can play two games with these giant dice. Yardzee or Yardkle. HAHAHA!

YARD DARTS – Not only are these yard darts, they glow in the dark. Now personally, by the time it gets dark during the summer we’re already in our jammies, but if you like to walk on the wild side, these are for you. LOL

YARD CONNECT FOUR – Did you have Connect Four as a kid? I did, and I loved it. I think this would be fun, and even the littles could play.

BADMINTON – This looks like such an easy way to play Badminton. This game has been around forever. This net doesn’t require spikes, and I think that would keep it from sagging.

LADDER TOSS – We bought one of these years ago for Katie’s graduation party. I had played it somewhere and it was a lot of fun. We will be pulling this out the next time we have a gathering.

HORSESHOES – I haven’t played horseshoes in years, but I used to love it. Most kids these days have probably never heard of it. Let’s bring it back.

BOCCE BALL – The only time I’ve played this was at an Italian restaurant, but it was a lot of fun.

GIANT JENGA – Not gonna’ lie, this one scares me a little. We went to a party with a reallly giant one, and I was terrified it would fall on someone. I think this one is a slightly smaller scale, so probably a lot safer.

CORN HOLE – This is a crowd pleaser, and I see a lot of people who take them (in a wagon) out on the beach to play. Little kids love playing with the bean bags for this one.

Check out this post with red, white and blue looks to go with your new outdoor games for July 4th.

Or this post has more red, white and blue all American summer style that would be fantastic for the 4th.

Have you signed up for my newsletters yet? You can do it at the bottom of this page. On Monday’s I share last weeks top 6 sellers, and on Friday’s there is a complete list of sales. There are usually things included in the newsletter for subscribers that don’t appear on the blog.😉 It’s kind of like Instagram. I share things all week long in stories and on the grid that don’t necessarily make it here.

Have a wonderful Monday!!!!

  • Hope your mom's surgery is successful and her pain is under control. So happy you are able to be there with them, I know they appreciate it!

  • While I am keeping your Mom close in prayer for relief from pain as well as her upcoming surgery, you, as well as your Dad are also close in thought and prayer. I know how difficult seeing your Mother in pain feels, especially when there really is nothing you can do to stop it.

  • Praying for your mom. My 92 year old mom fell last week,
Thursday. This is not an easy time. Praying for your dad as well.
