New & Noteworthy First Week of October

Impact-Site-Verification: 501633431 Hi friends! I have to say this week went by like the speed of light. Let’s take a look at what was new & noteworthy for the first week of October.

October is a big month in the Richardson household. Tomorrow is my birthday, and I’ll be LVI years old. HA! (you’ll have to think about that one.) Mine and Kent’s 31st anniversary is the 10th, and Katie’s birthday is the 15th. Time to celebrate. It may sound weird, but I’m making my own [cheese]cake. Katie is having us all for dinner tomorrow night, and I told her I’d do it…totally honest here, I like to lick the bowl. LOL

October as you know is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and there are so many brands that choose to give back to Breast Cancer Research/Organizations during this time. I thought I’d share a few who are giving back when you purchase certain items. I’m highlighting 3 this week, and I’ll try to find some more for next week.

Colleen Rothschild

Colleen herself had breast cancer within the last couple years, so it’s very near and dear to her. When you purchase the Quench & Shine Travel Kit, they will donate 25% to the Pink Fund. I have this kit and love it. I use all of her hair products. This would make such a good gift, so now’s a good time to stock up. You can use my code COASTTOCOAST20 and save 20% on it.

Appleseed’s

Appleseed’s is a brand I work with from time to time. They are selling a special scarf and for each one sold until October 31st, they will donate $10 to the American Cancer Society.

Julie Vos

It’s no secret how much I love this brand of jewelry. I think this is such a beautiful piece, and it would also make such a special gift for a survivor. Through Dec. 31st, Julie Vos will donate 10% of each bracelet sale to Susan G. Komen.

WHAT YOU MAY HAVE MISSED…

  • Yesterday I published a REEL with some super cute styles from Gibsonlook. You can use LISA10 on any or all of them. 😉 Shop the REEL on LTK here.
  • I also did a REEL with Walmart featuring REEBOK. They have some of the softest pieces perfect as the days are cooling off. Shop that REEL here.
  • If you’re interested in a styling idea for the Appleseed’s scarf, watch this REEL. Shop it here.
  • Wednesday’s post I shared where to get beautiful new art work.
  • Monday I took a look back at September’s best sellers.

NEW PIECES FROM AVARA

I’m sharing a REEL today with some new Avara pieces for fall. Here’s a sneak peak at a few. You can use my code COAST15 on anything. The code is good once every 3 months (when I can have my code reset), so grab several pieces when you use. I wear a lot of Avara in case you haven’t noticed.

Emery Dress

I really think this might be my favorite dress from Avara to date. It is so cute, and you can dress it up or down. I’ve seen it worn with sneakers and it’s just as cute as it is with heels. I’m wearing an XS.

Sweater & Jeans

Pink and orange are one of my favorite color combinations. This sweater is soooo soft and such a fun look. It’s another piece that can be worn multiple ways. I will wear it with joggers and sneakers for a fun sporty look. The jeans are also from Avara and I love a pair of gray jeans for a change.

Sweater & Jeans

Another great sweater option. Check out the sleeves. They are so cute and make it special. I love, love, love, striped sweaters. PS, it’s super soft. The jeans are also really good. They’re a straight leg, and fit great. I’m in my true size 28

The 4th of July is just around the corner and that means lots of cookouts and backyard BBQ’s. There are so many fun outdoor games for July 4th, and you can order them on Amazon to get them in time. These would be fun to have set up in stations around your yard, or some of them could easily be carried to a park if you’re gathering there.

I’ve seen several of these in use at the beach as well. Big kids/young adults and even older adults sometimes enjoy having something to do when spending an entire day on the beach.

GIANT WOODEN YARD DICE – You can play two games with these giant dice. Yardzee or Yardkle. HAHAHA!

YARD DARTS – Not only are these yard darts, they glow in the dark. Now personally, by the time it gets dark during the summer we’re already in our jammies, but if you like to walk on the wild side, these are for you. LOL

YARD CONNECT FOUR – Did you have Connect Four as a kid? I did, and I loved it. I think this would be fun, and even the littles could play.

BADMINTON – This looks like such an easy way to play Badminton. This game has been around forever. This net doesn’t require spikes, and I think that would keep it from sagging.

LADDER TOSS – We bought one of these years ago for Katie’s graduation party. I had played it somewhere and it was a lot of fun. We will be pulling this out the next time we have a gathering.

HORSESHOES – I haven’t played horseshoes in years, but I used to love it. Most kids these days have probably never heard of it. Let’s bring it back.

BOCCE BALL – The only time I’ve played this was at an Italian restaurant, but it was a lot of fun.

GIANT JENGA – Not gonna’ lie, this one scares me a little. We went to a party with a reallly giant one, and I was terrified it would fall on someone. I think this one is a slightly smaller scale, so probably a lot safer.

CORN HOLE – This is a crowd pleaser, and I see a lot of people who take them (in a wagon) out on the beach to play. Little kids love playing with the bean bags for this one.

Check out this post with red, white and blue looks to go with your new outdoor games for July 4th.

Or this post has more red, white and blue all American summer style that would be fantastic for the 4th.

Have you signed up for my newsletters yet? You can do it at the bottom of this page. On Monday’s I share last weeks top 6 sellers, and on Friday’s there is a complete list of sales. There are usually things included in the newsletter for subscribers that don’t appear on the blog.😉 It’s kind of like Instagram. I share things all week long in stories and on the grid that don’t necessarily make it here.

Have a wonderful Monday!!!!

Lisa
