Hi friends! The holidays are the busiest time of the year for most people, and there are lots of activities and festivities to attend. I’m sharing some tips on how to look your best during the holidays…or any day for that matter.
If you’ve been around here very long, you probably know I love the sun and I love a tan. I keep color all year long by self tanning. I’ll even just tan my feet if I’m wearing a mule or flat because they look so much better. I have a definite favorite brand when it comes to self tanning. LOVING TAN is by far the easiest and most natural looking color I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried plenty. You can use my code LISAMITT for a free tanning mitt with your purchase.
This goes for all the time, but be sure to take in enough fluids. It’s easy to become dehydrated and that will suck the life right out of your skin, cause irregularity, and can make you eat more. Often times, a lack of fluids can present as hunger causing excess eating. I like to drink Liquid IV to make the most of my water, because for me, drinking water is a challenge. I’ve never really liked water, but adding some flavor and sweetness helps me accomplish this. My code COASTTOCOAST2 will get you 30% off right now.
My favorite flavors are the new Sugar Free White Peach, Golden Cherry, and Tangerine.
This one can be a challenge during the busiest time of the year, but try to make a conscious effort to get in bed at a decent time. Make sleep a priority. Being run down from lack of rest can make you more susceptible to getting sick. It’s hard to look your best during the holidays when you don’t feel well and just want to crawl back in bed.
This is another one that’s really good anytime. Your smile is often the first thing people notice. Drinking a lot of coffee, tea or wine can cause teeth to have stains and not be as white. I use Lumineaux Whitening Strips from time to time to keep my teeth white. The pack I use is 40% off right now. I put them on my teeth in the morning before I get in the shower, leave on 30 minutes and then remove them. You have to brush the excess off your teeth, and then don’t eat or drink for another 30 minutes. It’s super easy.
I like to have my nails dipped. It lasts a long time on me, and wears well. Normally I go between 3-4 weeks. Now by the time I go, they’re in desperate need just from growth, but during the holidays I’ll go every 2-3 weeks. Here are some good holiday colors and if you’re like me, some neutral options. These are also on a “nail highlight” on Instagram. You can zoom in to see the names here or watch this.
I’m not a huge fan of ironing, but I also don’t like going out all wrinkled. I’ve found an easy compromise in the form of a steamer. I use mine almost daily for everything from my clothing to textiles like drapes and duvet covers in the house. My favorite is this one because it can act as an iron as well. I haven’t tried ironing with it, but I like that you can use it horizontally without water spilling out all over whatever your steaming. I just checked and it’s 20% off. Best deal I’ve ever seen.
I’m sure there are many more things we could add to this list. Let me know in the comments what you do to look your best during the holidays.

The 4th of July is just around the corner and that means lots of cookouts and backyard BBQ’s. There are so many fun outdoor games for July 4th, and you can order them on Amazon to get them in time. These would be fun to have set up in stations around your yard, or some of them could easily be carried to a park if you’re gathering there.
I’ve seen several of these in use at the beach as well. Big kids/young adults and even older adults sometimes enjoy having something to do when spending an entire day on the beach.
GIANT WOODEN YARD DICE – You can play two games with these giant dice. Yardzee or Yardkle. HAHAHA!
YARD DARTS – Not only are these yard darts, they glow in the dark. Now personally, by the time it gets dark during the summer we’re already in our jammies, but if you like to walk on the wild side, these are for you. LOL
YARD CONNECT FOUR – Did you have Connect Four as a kid? I did, and I loved it. I think this would be fun, and even the littles could play.
BADMINTON – This looks like such an easy way to play Badminton. This game has been around forever. This net doesn’t require spikes, and I think that would keep it from sagging.
LADDER TOSS – We bought one of these years ago for Katie’s graduation party. I had played it somewhere and it was a lot of fun. We will be pulling this out the next time we have a gathering.
HORSESHOES – I haven’t played horseshoes in years, but I used to love it. Most kids these days have probably never heard of it. Let’s bring it back.
BOCCE BALL – The only time I’ve played this was at an Italian restaurant, but it was a lot of fun.
GIANT JENGA – Not gonna’ lie, this one scares me a little. We went to a party with a reallly giant one, and I was terrified it would fall on someone. I think this one is a slightly smaller scale, so probably a lot safer.
CORN HOLE – This is a crowd pleaser, and I see a lot of people who take them (in a wagon) out on the beach to play. Little kids love playing with the bean bags for this one.
Check out this post with red, white and blue looks to go with your new outdoor games for July 4th.
Or this post has more red, white and blue all American summer style that would be fantastic for the 4th.

Merry Christmas! Do the teeth whitening strips make your teeth more sensitive? I know it says they don’t on the box, but what’s the reality? 😬
I have been using them for a few weeks (daily for the first week, then once a week or so.) I don't find them to make my teeth more sensitive. I have seen several bloggers recommend these, and all say the same.
I use the same self-tanner and teeth whitening strips. Love the self-tanner. Not sure how much whiter my teeth are, but if only a bit whiter, that is a win.
