How to Style Wide Leg Jeans

Today I want to look at how to style wide leg jeans. One of my favorite trends this spring is the wide leg, cropped trend, and I’m developing quite the collection. I have a new pair that are high waisted with a frayed hem. Honestly, I prefer a mid-rise, but I liked this pair so much, I decided to roll with the high waist.

I sized down in these to a 27. They are the Risen brand and I almost always go down a size in them. They have a nice amount of stretch and the denim is soft. I got this pair from Avara, and you can use my code COAST15 for 15% off.

One of the best ways to style this silhouette of jeans is to wear a shirt tucked in. You need to have balance when styling a wide leg pant, so tucking in a top, wearing one that sits close to the body or wearing one with a cropped length is best. I chose this camp style popover that is from a new to me online boutique called Caroline Hill. They have a lot of cute pieces. This top is cute, flowy and fully lined. It’s navy with a thin tan stripe.

I added my new white denim jacket as a “completer piece” to round out the look. It’s just like my light-wash denim jacket that I’ve been wearing for several years. The puff sleeves are what make this jacket so cute. It and the jeans are both from Avara, so that means my code COAST15 is also good on the jacket. I sized up to a medium in it and it fits perfectly.

Metallics are still trending, and this gold metallic bag is a great size. It will easily hold a computer and a small purse along with chargers, etc… It also has a set of longer straps you can use to carry it as a shoulder bag. This one came from the same online boutique as the top. It’s a great travel bag, or I used it to carry a box of shoes into the store to return Saturday.

You know I’m never going out without my accessories on. The necklaces are great layering pieces, and the I always love a gold hoop. The beaded bracelet is one of my most worn pieces, and the new link bracelet is quickly becoming a favorite as well along with the gold ring.

SHOP THE POST

I hope you found this post on how to style wide leg jeans helpful.

The 4th of July is just around the corner and that means lots of cookouts and backyard BBQ’s. There are so many fun outdoor games for July 4th, and you can order them on Amazon to get them in time. These would be fun to have set up in stations around your yard, or some of them could easily be carried to a park if you’re gathering there.

I’ve seen several of these in use at the beach as well. Big kids/young adults and even older adults sometimes enjoy having something to do when spending an entire day on the beach.

GIANT WOODEN YARD DICE – You can play two games with these giant dice. Yardzee or Yardkle. HAHAHA!

YARD DARTS – Not only are these yard darts, they glow in the dark. Now personally, by the time it gets dark during the summer we’re already in our jammies, but if you like to walk on the wild side, these are for you. LOL

YARD CONNECT FOUR – Did you have Connect Four as a kid? I did, and I loved it. I think this would be fun, and even the littles could play.

BADMINTON – This looks like such an easy way to play Badminton. This game has been around forever. This net doesn’t require spikes, and I think that would keep it from sagging.

LADDER TOSS – We bought one of these years ago for Katie’s graduation party. I had played it somewhere and it was a lot of fun. We will be pulling this out the next time we have a gathering.

HORSESHOES – I haven’t played horseshoes in years, but I used to love it. Most kids these days have probably never heard of it. Let’s bring it back.

BOCCE BALL – The only time I’ve played this was at an Italian restaurant, but it was a lot of fun.

GIANT JENGA – Not gonna’ lie, this one scares me a little. We went to a party with a reallly giant one, and I was terrified it would fall on someone. I think this one is a slightly smaller scale, so probably a lot safer.

CORN HOLE – This is a crowd pleaser, and I see a lot of people who take them (in a wagon) out on the beach to play. Little kids love playing with the bean bags for this one.

Check out this post with red, white and blue looks to go with your new outdoor games for July 4th.

Or this post has more red, white and blue all American summer style that would be fantastic for the 4th.
