Hi friends! We’re just a little over 3 weeks from the high point of summer…the 4th of July. Even though I love red, white and blue all summer long it definitely makes me think of the 4th. I’ve been wearing a lot red, white and blue outfits lately and these would all be looks to love and so cute for the upcoming holiday and beyond.
This red and white striped shirt with the red “ruffle” shoulders was one I knew I’d love as soon as I saw it. I was torn, because there is also a navy and white version, but I definitely made the right call getting the red. I wore it to travel in yesterday. It’s so cute with my white tennis skort, but it’s also really cute with white jeans, denim cut off shorts or traditional jeans. You can use COAST15 to get 15% off this top and all the Avara pieces. You can also use LISAXSPANX to get 10% off the skort. I got mine last year and I have worn it so much. I love the pleats, and just the overall look. I also prefer a cute sport skort to shorts.
This red dress is so cute, but the back is the best part. Naturally I don’t have a photo of the back, but it’s got a big bow at the neck. Need I say more? I wore this to a rehearsal dinner over the weekend. It’s darling paired with the gold sandals, but you could easily add a flip flop to dress it down.
This navy dress is darling! I have the blue and white seersucker version too and they are just so easy to throw on and go. You look totally pulled together, but are so crazy comfortable.
This dress is probably my favorite, and it’s so easy to see why. It embodies all the details I love. I think the different fabrics are so fun, and of course the fringe is a fun detail. The overall cut and length is perfect, and it works well all summer long. Wear it with sneakers or heels. Either way, it truly works.
This red top is such a cutie and it comes in a lot of colors including white and navy, so it you don’t want red, no worries. The fabric is nice and the details like the little bit of lace are cute.
This is feeling like an AVARA post. Not what I intended, but I have gotten quite a few red, white and blue pieces from them lately. This is another little dress that’s a throw on and go style. Sometimes you just don’t want to think about it, and things like this come in handy. I think this would be a good swim cover too, especially if you’re going to swim/cookout for the 4th.
Of course my favorite gauze shirts are always a good idea. These I wear all the time, all summer. Every time a new color comes out, I have to have it!!!
Okay, the last of the red, white and blue looks to love is this top…it’s the best of all worlds. Red, white AND blue. The embroidery is so cute, and it has just a fun, but polished look to it. PS, these jeans are new from Madewell. I love the kick crop style, and Madewell jeans are comfortable.
You can use my code COAST15 on your Avara purchases. It can only be used once every 3 months, and then I can have it reset and you can use it again. It was last reset on 5/7, so we’re about half way to another reset. Sometimes I get lucky and they’ll reset it early.
The 4th of July is just around the corner and that means lots of cookouts and backyard BBQ’s. There are so many fun outdoor games for July 4th, and you can order them on Amazon to get them in time. These would be fun to have set up in stations around your yard, or some of them could easily be carried to a park if you’re gathering there.
I’ve seen several of these in use at the beach as well. Big kids/young adults and even older adults sometimes enjoy having something to do when spending an entire day on the beach.
GIANT WOODEN YARD DICE – You can play two games with these giant dice. Yardzee or Yardkle. HAHAHA!
YARD DARTS – Not only are these yard darts, they glow in the dark. Now personally, by the time it gets dark during the summer we’re already in our jammies, but if you like to walk on the wild side, these are for you. LOL
YARD CONNECT FOUR – Did you have Connect Four as a kid? I did, and I loved it. I think this would be fun, and even the littles could play.
BADMINTON – This looks like such an easy way to play Badminton. This game has been around forever. This net doesn’t require spikes, and I think that would keep it from sagging.
LADDER TOSS – We bought one of these years ago for Katie’s graduation party. I had played it somewhere and it was a lot of fun. We will be pulling this out the next time we have a gathering.
HORSESHOES – I haven’t played horseshoes in years, but I used to love it. Most kids these days have probably never heard of it. Let’s bring it back.
BOCCE BALL – The only time I’ve played this was at an Italian restaurant, but it was a lot of fun.
GIANT JENGA – Not gonna’ lie, this one scares me a little. We went to a party with a reallly giant one, and I was terrified it would fall on someone. I think this one is a slightly smaller scale, so probably a lot safer.
CORN HOLE – This is a crowd pleaser, and I see a lot of people who take them (in a wagon) out on the beach to play. Little kids love playing with the bean bags for this one.
Check out this post with red, white and blue looks to go with your new outdoor games for July 4th.
Or this post has more red, white and blue all American summer style that would be fantastic for the 4th.

There are usually things included in the newsletter for subscribers that don’t appear on the blog.😉 It’s kind of like Instagram.
