Well the kids are both back at school and starting classes today. The first day of Katie’s second semester and the first day of Benny’s LAST semester. WHAT??? Yes, that has gone by so fast.

Even though we are a week into 2017, today feels like the real beginning of the new year and getting back to normal.
Being Monday and all that a little weekend review is in order.
Katie and I ran in the grocery on Friday afternoon to grab a few things and I came across extension cords on sale for $.25. She couldn’t believe I bought 4. You know you can never find one when you need it, and I simply can’t pass up a great deal.

She wanted to go get sushi one more time at her favorite place before leaving, so that’s what we did Friday night.
Saturday morning we took her to the airport and I grabbed a selfie before she got in the security line and then watched her until she got through. This was her first solo flight and while she’s flown plenty, I just wanted to watch for as long as I could.
Of course she was like “mom stop”.
It rained all weekend and so we spent it indoors just doing a lot of this.
I started cleaning up her room and bathroom pretty soon after we got back from the airport and found all of her necklaces hanging in the closet.

She was thrilled to get back with her buddies and they went roller skating.

These two adorable people made it back to Nashville too. I don’t get all the fun Snapchats from Benny that I get from Katie, but Katie and Erin snap so I get to see some of those.

And we wrapped the weekend up like this…watching Fixer Upper and listening to the rain.
So there you have it. Our weekend in a nutshell.
Good news for all of us who have fallen in love with This Is Us. New episodes start us this week and all the people are happy!

I'm sure your house seems so quiet now. Hopefully they'll be back home to visit soon! I know my kiddos are growing up so fast and I'll have a quiet house too. Not sure if I'm actually going to like that. :(
Thankfully they don't all leave at once so you ease into it Jenny.? I've learned to enjoy the quiet which is something I never did in the past. I ALWAYS had the TV on in the background, but now I keep it off most of the time. I think I've gone through some kind of weird metamorphosis.? Have a great week and enjoy the noise!!!?
Glad you are adapting to your empty nest, although I know you miss your little birdies! I can't wait for This is Us! I keep checking my DVR just hoping an episode will magically appear.
