I’ve had the idea in my head for a while and the pictures on my phone to go with it to do a Trader Joe’s post. I’ve been seeing other bloggers sharing what they love from TJ’s and I’ve tried new things because of them, so maybe you’ll find something new from my favs. I’ll tell you that being a fan of Trader Joe’s is a new phenomenon for me. We had one when we lived in Richmond, but I didn’t really get it? Now I’ve seen the light, drank the kool-aid or whatever, and I’m a convert. I started by finding just a few things there, but then through posts like this I continued to try new things and now I do quite a bit of shopping there. I actually realized I had so many things that I could make this a two parter, so today is part one.
Some of the things I got the prices in the pictures and some I didn’t, just so you can get a feel for how things run.
I love Gorgonzola cheese and this has become my favorite. It’s nice and creamy with just the right amount of bite to it.
These packaged deli meats with no added preservatives are great to keep in the fridge for a quick, easy snack, especially on days when I’m trying to keep my carbs low.
These packages of cod pieces are perfect for fish tacos. I also use them for a fish taco salad that we love and I’m going to share with y’all soon.
(ignore my nails?)
I’ve made my own cauliflower pizza crusts in the past, but this is so much easier and really tasty. Throw a little pesto, Sun-dried Tomatoes, Kalamata olives, prosciutto and feta cheese on for a quick dinner with a salad.
This ⬆️ was new for me and we ate it last week with this ⬇️tomato soup. They were both delicious. I added a squirt of tomato paste to the soup with a little salt.
The tomato soup was really creamy. Next time I want to add a little pesto to it.
I like to use chutney in sautéed green beans (which I also get in the freezer section at TJ’s but don’t have a picture)
Great to throw in salads or eat as a snack. Pair them with pretzel goldfish. We go to a restaurant that brings that combo to your table and it’s a fun little snack.
I’ve been using frozen garlic for quite a while and LOVE it. I previously bought minced garlic in a jar, but was leery of the preservatives in it. This stuff is so easy and convenient.
These little crackers are delicious with a soft cheese like Boursin.
Riced cauliflower was one of the firs things I started buying at Trader Joe’s. They actually were ahead of the curve and had it before the main stream grocery stores were carrying it. We rarely eat rice anymore and substitute the riced cauliflower. It even makes delicious fried “rice”.
These little bars are one of those things I tried at the recommendation of another blogger. I honestly figured it would be money down a rat hole, but I was wrong. They are soft and chewy and delicious with a hint of spice. I can’t say the same thing for the biscotti that were beside them in the same bag. ?
Peanuts are a bargain and great chopped and thrown on top of the fish taco salad or just grabbing a small handful for a crunchy snack. They have the perfect amount of salt on them.
Zucchini is another one of the first things I started buying and now it’s about the only place I’ll purchase it.
Every morning I drink a concoction of lemon juice, Raw Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar and a little Stevia. I won’t go so far as to say it’s delicious, but the Stevia makes it tolerable. This is supposed to be a detox of sorts, increase metabolism (questionable) and give your digestive system a jump start. I drink it as soon as I get up mixed with 8-10 oz hot water (from my Keurig). The Meyer lemons are better than regular lemons and not quite as sour and tart. My measurements are 2T lemon juice and 1T Apple Cider Vinegar.
What are you buying from Trader Joe’s? If you have a favorite I need to try next time I go to Trader Joe’s, please tell me in the comments. I love finding more new things every time I’m there.

Being a TJ Newbie, you know how happy this makes me. I am keeping a running list for the next visit. And many of your picks are going on it! Especially the edamame and cod for fish tacos. So excited for your salad recipe!
Lisa Richardson says
YAY!!! Yes, those are both good ones. I have a hard time staying away from all their cookies and treats. they look so delicious!!!

That’s one of the great things about all these TJ’s posts, finding new stuff from people you trust. XOXO

Any cracker from Trader Joe’s is delicious! I used the brush that came with the QVC IT concealer package and you were right – game changer. I am not sure what the difference is between the IT concealer brush I had and that one but it made a huge difference. Thanks for the recommendation. Also, I put it on my lips and almost didn’t recognize myself once I put on lipstick! Another game changer!
Lisa Richardson says
Totally agree about the crackers. I just love crackers in general (& all carbs. HA) I’m so happy the brush worked and you like it. Yippee!!!! XO
Tanya @Other Side of the Road says
Thanks for the tip on the garlic – I didn’t know they had frozen garlic! And great price on the lemons. Those raisin crackers are seriously addictive!
Lisa Richardson says
It’s the best! You will love it!

One thing I recently discovered is TJ’s sweet chili sauce. I roast Brussel sprouts + cauliflower then put a little of this on. I copied it from a restaurant and it is one of my favorite sides. I also love the little Gorgonzola crackers but can’t keep them in the house as I no control and would eat them all immediately.
Lisa Richardson says
Ooooo, that sounds yummy and we love Brussel Sprouts. I’ll add that to my list! It’s so easy to eat too many crackers. HA!

I love the Trader Joe’s almond butter! I also buy the frozen green beans, riced cauliflower and Trader Joe’s reduced guilt guacamole!! Yum! I am going to try some of your favs too. I also drink the lemon with apple cider vinegar every morning but I drink it cold!
This is a fun post!!
Lisa Richardson says
I guess I should try that too. I’ve only bought almond butter once and wasn’t a fan, but maybe TJ’s would change my mind. I’ve bought the guac too. It’s good. Here’s to ACV…but only because it’s good for us! HA XO

I never go to Trader Joe’s because our local one has terrible parking! Looks like yummy stuff though!
Lisa Richardson says
So funny you’d say that about the parking. Ours had the WORST parking lot and I hated going there, but it recently moved just down the road and is soooo much better. Maybe you’ll get lucky too!!!

Oh these items all sounds wonderful Lisa- I think I need to try the cauliflower crust and the mango chutney. Some of my fave TJ items are the Cilantro dressing, the lemon ricotta (only around during the holidays) and all of their fresh flowers!
Lisa Richardson says
Yes, to the fresh flowers. They are beautiful! The lemon ricotta sounds wonderful. I’ll have to keep an eye out for that! XO
Laura says
I use minced garlic all the time! I need to try the frozen stuff instead!
Lisa Richardson says
Oh my goodness, YOU WILL LOVE IT! So, so easy! XO

We stopped going to TJ’s a few years ago, I think when I stopped working. I used to go there a lot to get stuff for lunches, etc. I love their soups, etc. I was telling the kids we really need to go again soon. The problem is that it isn’t super close to our house. I LOVE TJ’s tho! I would love to try that cauliflower pizza crust! I also love your idea of the tomato soup with the french flat bread. YUM! I need to pin this for when I do go. I didn’t realize the jarred garlic had so many preservatives! DUH! I’m really trying to eat cleaner this year.

I buy the Lavosh flatbreads and that is what we have for pizzas every Friday night! We love them and I have my girls using them now and my parents! I love the TJ’s light mozzarella — it is low in points for my Weight Watcher lifestyle and SO GOOD. as is their greek non fat vanilla bean yogurt. My husband loves the chocolate chip cookie sticks. I do not eat those! HA! I also love the Simply chicken pieces and the hummus. I buy the roasted corn, and the fire roasted peppers and onions (frozen) and the bell peppers chopped up in the frozen section. My girls love the TJ swedish fish and whatever holiday gummy candies they have. Also the peppermint Jo Jo’s are a huge hit with me and my Father in law! oh and I love the Tea Tree shampoo, and conditioner. The rose water facial spray. The Body butter is heaven. LOL wow I buy a lot and we don’t even have one by us here. I have to drive to Fresno and go to TJ or when I am at the beach house. Oh and the TJ original savory crackers are so good too! and the flowers and the fresh herbs. LOL I can keep this up all day long! LOL
Lisa Richardson says
Oh my gosh! So funny!!! You need one closer to you! I’ll have to jot all of these down and look for them next time I go. I’ve looked at the roasted corn, so that’s definitely going on my list. I’ll also have to add the flatbreads and light mozzarella. (is that shredded or in a ball/log like fresh mozzarella?) I love finding out about new things!!!!
Kim Taylor says
Its shredded! I love anything I can find low point. The guiltless mac n cheese is good too for a fast quick side at dinner and even my husband likes it.
Lisa Richardson says
Thanks Kim!
