There are a lot of subjects people don’t want to discuss and if I had to guess, irregularity falls into that category. But like the children’s book says, “everyone poops”. HA! Today I’m sharing a recipe for a super easy, very berry smoothie with ingredients that are natural and better for you. I added to it the NEW and ONLY at Walmart Metamucil Premium Blend, which has fiber and tastes great with stevia.
Irregularity is something people of all ages deal with from time to time and doesn’t discriminate. It often starts early in children, and as we age it can also become more of an issue. Many mid-lifers are trying to find ways to manage weight, cholesterol & high blood pressure through healthier lifestyles and diet. However sometimes medication is necessary and can have an adverse effect on the digestive system. Adding Metamucil Premium Blend to a daily routine can help control your appetite and promote heart health. Taking Metamucil Premium Blend every day helps you maintain healthy blood sugar levels* and helps lower cholesterol.
Here are the things you’ll need to make this smoothie, but not limited to these. You can add any kind of berry or fruit you like, throw in some ground flax seed and/or spinach. You’re really only as limited as your imagination. I choose to use frozen berries because I like the thick creamy texture, but you can use fresh fruit and throw in some ice too.
Ingredients for one smoothie:
1/2 cup frozen cherries
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 banana (optional)
1/4 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
1/2 tablespoon Chia seeds
1-2 teaspoons Metamucil Premium Blend (according to package directions)
Combine all ingredients in a blender or use an immersion blender (my tool of choice)
Hint: Thaw fruit in microwave for 20-30 seconds to make blending easier, then add remaining ingredients and blend. If needed add a little Almond milk or juice of choice.
Interested in trying out the Metamucil Premium Blend? Hover over the photo above to click through and purchase. You can also find it here on the WalMart website. As with any product please take as directed on the label for best results.
Smoothies are more popular than ever and the perfect addition to breakfast or for a snack. They are also a great way to sneak more fruits and veggies into kids diets that may otherwise be averse to them. The addition of Metamucil Premium Blend adds not only additional fiber, but the plant-based stevia used to sweeten it adds just a touch more sweetness to the smoothie along with a hint of orange flavor.
Are you ready to experience what lighter feels like? Metamucil Premium Blend traps and removes the waste that weighs you down so you feel lighter and less sluggish.* How about joining me in participating in the 2 week Metamucil Challenge?
Look for the new Metamucil Premium Blend sweetened with plant based Stevia at your local WalMart.

Well, you’ve certainly handled this subject with aplomb, and the photos are ah-maz-ing! Since you brought it up…I had this problem until I changed my eating habits. It took about a year and it’s no longer an issue. TMI, right?
Lisa Richardson says
Thanks Kim. Happy you are no longer having issues. It’s so miserable.

I used to add psyllium husk to my smoothies, but we’re mostly vegetarian now and let’s just say, getting bound up is NEVER a problem. 🙂

This looks really tasty! Kids always go through times where they are having issues with regularity so it helps to have a few tricks up your sleeve to help with that!
Lisa Richardson says
This would be a great way to get it in kids…don’t try just putting it in yogurt though…learned that the hard way. LOL
Swami ratnamurti saraswati says
A friend told me that she has the metamucil in water only, in the evening, to help with her pre diabetes.
Lisa Richardson says
This is so much easier to swallow (literally). Don’t know how much fruit she can have, but maybe it would work for her. Thanks for stopping by.
