Schools out for summer…well, most places that is. There are still a few stragglers just buying their time, and bless those poor teachers. What’s your favorite thing about summer? I’ll tell you mine. The sun!!! I know, I know. The sun gets a bad wrap a lot of the time, but it’s not all bad. I love longer days and sitting in the warmth of the sun. Give me all the vitamin D. This month my Simply Earth subscription box is all about summer and using essential oils. I had no idea of all the uses for essential oils before starting these monthly boxes. I had a collection of oils in my medicine cabinet, but wasn’t really sure how to use them to their fullest extent.
This months box comes with 4 oils (every month does), dried hibiscus flowers, Aloe Vera and a spray bottle. You’ll also have all the roller bottles, other carrier oils and small bottles for mixing diffuser blends, from you bonus box you receive for FREE when you subscribe. The bonus box includes all kinds of great extras.
You get 3 single oils and 1 blend in each box. This months featured oils are:
Grapefruit ~ Clears skin to rejuvenates dull hair, uplifts, energizes, and supports.
Palmarosa ~ Promotes healthy skin, calms, helps sleeplessness (yes please), reduces fungus & reduces swelling and achiness
Head Soothing ~ Relieves tension headaches & eases neck discomfort
Anise Star ~ Pain reliefe, aid digestion, respiratory support, menstrual support
The Hibiscus Frozen Facial was super easy to make. If you’ve got a tween or teen girl and will be having summer sleepovers, this would be awesome for them to make at night and then use in the morning. Just be sure they’re all near a sink. ?The directions are to apply an ice cube to your face wrapped in a paper towel or just alone. I tried it without the paper towel so I could get the full experience. It’s amazing how quickly the warmth of your skin melts it, and it feels so good just rubbing it all over your face. I bet it would feel really good after a day in the sun too. The smell is lovely and my face felt rejuvenated. (not exaggerating).
You can watch me make some of these recipes in my Instagram stories saved to the Essential Oils Highlights.
The Travel Buddy Roll On helps with confidence, digestion, nausea support and head ache relief. You can also use it as a massage oil to help with travel stiffness in your neck. You know how easy it is to get a crick in your neck when traveling. UGH!
We have a giant tub in our master bath. So big in fact that I have a hard time relaxing in it because my feet won’t reach the end. What? We’ve lived in our house 6 years and I’ve taken less than 5 baths, but 2 of them have been in the last few months. I’m excited to try these Hibiscus Skin Repair Bath Salts though. One day soon I’ll be taking a nice long soak and reaping the rewards of mixing these up. They were so incredibly easy. It literally took me about 2 minutes. These are another thing that would work great for a girls sleepover. All the girls could make all of these things and have a cool little gift to take home and enjoy.
There are all kinds of texturizers out there for hair, but why not make your own this summer with essential oils? The Beachy Hair Spray will be perfect for adding a little grit to your hair when it’s too clean. Did you know it’s typically recommended not to wash your hair the day of a big event because it will style better? #daughterofahairdresser
Are you ready to give essential oils a try? Maybe you’re already using them, but are looking for more ways to put them to work. I love trying to resolve a health issue naturally before turning to the medicine cabinet. I’m in no way a totally natural girl, but baby steps and these EO’s are helping me to learn.
Now it’s your turn. Use my referral link here and then my code COASTTOCOAST2FREE and receive a $40 gift card towards a future box or something else on their site and a FREE bonus box, full of all the little extras to help you make all the recipes. I just love reading all of the scents and what they do on the bottles! I love a good beach hair spray in the summer!

Thanks Carrie! I'm really having a good time with these. XO
I love reading these types of posts from you, Lisa! I'm only just dipping my toes in the EO waters, and I'm a huge fan of facials. I need to try something like this! Also, is there anything better than beachy hair?!
Loving Life Moore
Well thank you very much sweet Melissa! It's a huge pool and you gotta' wade in.?
We've been using oils a bit but mostly in a diffuser. One of these days after we move, I will try them out in different ways like this.
XOXO

It's mostly getting into the mindset I think. I just forget to make them my first course of action. I definitely do for burns though with lavender and headaches with peppermint. XO
I am getting next month's box and can't wait! These recipes are always so much fun when I see what you get to make. The frozen facial sounds so refreshing and perfect for summer!
OH GOOD! Are you going to start working with them? I think you'll love it!
I am! I can't wait!
That facial sounds so nice but I bet it's messy! It's so hot here it would met in a minute but feel so good while it's doing it! I love hibiscus - apparently all the deer in my neighborhood do too - they munch on mine all the time!
xo,
Kellyann
It is a little messy, but I just lean over the sink to use it. XO
This service really makes sure you are using your oils and gives you so many ideas that you wouldn't have thought of! That facial sounds amazing!
Jill - Doused in Pink
It really does. I love it!
