Well you know the story…Thursday and time to figure out what Friday Favorites to share this week. Did you see my Instagram story Wednesday? I shared how I’m loving my brush blow dryer and use it. I had quite a few messages about the products and links, so I figured today would be a great day to share my favorite hair products.
Let’s start at the very beginning, a very good place to start…Name that tune. But seriously, what better place to start than the beginning of the entire process, and when you have this much hair, it’s definitely a process.
I can’t say I have one shampoo and conditioner that I consistently use, but if you looked in my shower right now, you’d find this. Blonde’s can get brassy if they aren’t careful and a purple shampoo helps. Did you know it’s also a good idea to switch up your shampoo and conditioner from time to time to achieve continuous volume and shine? It’s also a good idea to use a clarifying shampoo twice a month. These deep cleansers can get you out of your hair funk by removing buildup that’s developed over time from styling products and dry shampoo.
I consistently use a leave in conditioner/heat protectant and a root lifter/volumizer. Again, I’ll switch them around from time to time, but my go-to’s are some combination of these.
I’ve used a pick to “comb” my hair when it’s wet for as long as I can remember. My favorite hairbrush has been this paddle brush for years, and I use these jaw clips to section my hair for drying and curling, and a handheld mirror for checking the back.
I invested in a T3 dryer last year and haven’t regretted the expense for a second. If you’re in the market for a good dryer that will truly make drying your hair quicker, then this it it.
The current hero in this entire process is this! I bought the Revlon Volumizer brush (currently on sale) months ago and love it. Recently I was contacted and asked to try this version. I was leery that it wouldn’t work as well, but happily surprised that it works every bit as well, for about half the price. This dryer brush has made it so I no longer need to use a flat iron after drying my hair. YES! All the praise hands here.
I have 2 curling irons, 1″ & 1 1/4″. I use them equally. My flat iron is also a T3 and I love it just as much as the dryer. I tried the T3 curling iron and didn’t feel like it was any better than these, especially considering the much higher price tag.
I do use a hairspray most days, but like all of my products, I switch it up. I want to try the Kenra as soon as I need a new bottle, but currently I’m using this one that’s on super sale.

I can’t let you go without a couple of major sale alerts. Madewell is having a buy more, save more sale. The striped cardigan I shared earlier this week is almost half off. YES, half off. I also ordered this sweater, this top, this top and this bag.
SOMA is having their panty event. 7 for $37 panties which includes my personal favs, these. I’ve worn these for the last 8+ years. The lace on the back leaves no VPL (even with leggings) and they don’t ride up. #nomorewedgies #hallelujah

I’ve used shimmering lights shampoo for years and tried the conditioner recently, but I wasn’t as impressed with it as I am the shampoo. Can you believe that up until about 5 years ago, I didn’t have to use conditioner at all?! My hair’s texture has changed so now, it pretty much requires conditioner. I use Aussie’s 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner and it’s great! Have a Happy Birthday Weekend, my friend!!
Lisa Richardson says
I should try the Aussie again. I’ve used those products in the past too. XOXO

Doe a Deer, a Female Deer, Ray…The Hills are alive, with the Sound of Music? now, about your products! Love the brush and I use Kenra products, need some hairspray as well! Your hairdryer sounds great! I use a hair turban which dries my hair so I don’t have to use my hairdryer long when I get to it. You have gorgeous hair!

I am growing out my color and returning to my roots. Ha!! Using purple shampoo to keep the brassiness under control on my remaining highlights and it seems to work well on the incoming silver. Cannot wait til I get back to my natural hair color because using any kind of product or curling iron, hot curlers, hair dryer just makes it so frizzy and fried.
Lisa Richardson says
Good for you, Leslie! I kinda don’t even care about going gray…it comes off as blonde, so I got lucky! #thanksmom

Yesterday we had a girls days with the 3 of us. So fun. Where in MN does your son go to school? We lived in Minneapolis for 3 years and my son was a competitive swimmer, so we had a lot of meet at “the U”. Thanks for reading. Happy weekend! XO
