Hi friends! Happy Friday to y’all! Here we are, another Friday and the first of May. What happened to April? #likewedontknow The weeks are just clicking by. We found out our shelter in place has been extended until the end of this month. Another WHOLE month. It’s almost impossible to wrap my brain around the fact that we’ve been home for 7 weeks straight. I told Kent, I guess we could go somewhere that’s opening up. HA! I mean, he can work “from home” anywhere.
If there’s one thing for sure that’s a positive about this entire pandemic, it’s that we’ve had some extended time with Katie at home. And how often does a mama get to witness her college girl take her final college exam? We officially have a college graduate, and I’m here to tell you that was a
F A S T four years. I am however so sad we aren’t in Nashville this weekend watching her walk across that stage and cheer for her. These kids have worked so hard, and they deserve to be celebrated. Of course we’re going to celebrate her here Saturday night with a yummy dinner and dessert of her choosing. This summer when we go to Nashville, we’ll go out for an official celebration with Benny & Erin and some friends.
Every time I shave my legs, I think about how much I love this little ‘foot shelf’, and wish I’d found it 7 years ago when we moved in this house. It is absolutely the handiest little gadget, and if you don’t have a shelf to rest your foot on when your shaving, I beg you, buy one of these!
As long as we’re talking about shaving legs, let’s talk Billie razors. Now that I’ve been using it for a while I can officially say, I really love this razor. Somehow it just feels like it would be much harder to cut myself, it shaves close, the blades last a long time, and the little magnetic do-dad that comes with it, is genius.
Last Friday Katie and I went to WalMart for some supplies and came home with a pool. Y’all, I can’t help but laugh every time I think about it. We spent almost all of our time outside last weekend. It was hot, and just sitting with your feet in made it much more pleasant. I’m thinking it just might be the best $13 I’ve ever spent. LOL I’m really lobbying for a pool at our next house, and this may have been just the thing to convince Kent. He enjoyed sitting out there as much as we did.
One day when I was out walking, I came across this on the sidewalk. I thought it was just so precious. Sidewalk chalk art has been super popular during this quarantine time. When my kids were little, Target had the coolest sidewalk chalk holders in the Dollar Spot. I’m pretty sure they are out in my garage somewhere…at least I hope they are.
These are similar to what we had. I think they are so clever. They help keep kids hands a little cleaner, and Miss OCD here is all about that. HA!
Having this silly girl home means daily laughter. She is a H O O T! We have the best time together, and the three of us also have a lot of fun. We are always goofing off. She comes up with the funniest stuff. Now let me say, that I am in no way opposed to Botox, but the fact that she comes up with stuff like this cracks me up.
Target has bathing suits on sale for 30% off through tomorrow. They have a lot of cute ones, and they are good quality. I’ve got one tankini top that has got to be 4-5 years old, and it has held up so well. I just ordered a few separates to try.

Last week I named my air fryer one of my favorites. Katie had seen a recipe for coconut chicken tenders she was dying to try, so we made them Wednesday night and used the air fryer. They were soooo good. The chicken was tender and juicy and the coating was nice and crispy. Last night I warmed the leftovers up in the air fryer to crisp them back up, and it worked like a charm.
Did you catch Monday’s post? It was my Mother’s Day gift guide. I included a lot of my personal favorites that I either already have or would like to have.
Okay gang, that’s about it for today. If you are in a state that is starting to ease back into real life, be smart, keep your distance, wash your hands and be safe.

Oooh, my mom just sent us a pool like that and I can’t wait for it to be warm enough here to get it out! I also need to get my air fryer out and try that chicken recipe, it looks delicious! Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend!

I’m so happy you got your pool! I sorta wish we had one like that instead of the ginormous concrete whole in our backyard that costs a fortune to maintain! Ha!!! KT is a hoot and I am so happy she’s been home with you. Big congratulations on her college graduation!
xo,
Kellyann
Lisa Richardson says
Well I’d take your ginormous one any day of the week. I’ll pass the congrats along. XO

I love your little backyard pool! We always had a big blow up pool when the kids were little, and we all loved getting in. Congrats to Katie, but so bittersweet not to have the ceremony. You must be so proud of her! I think the PA profession is such a smart move…they will certainly be in demand in the coming years. Have a good weekend.
Lisa Richardson says
I only wish I had a pool like yours and outdoor area. That’s what I’m really hoping for at the next house. We are extremely proud of Katie. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, and with the courses she had, that’s even more impressive. I bet Grace will be exactly the same. They seem like they’re geared a lot alike. XO
Jill says
I love that you brought home that pool! We had one of those in our yard when our daughter was younger and it was perfect on a hot day! Congrats to your daughter!

Another month. Holy smokes. And lets all pray now that our governor doesn’t say ANOTHER MONTH at the end of May…….#prayinghandsplease I was okay until this week and Just sort of snapped. Sorry Tony. LOL he got the brutal end of my melt down. But all is well in my world again. I just need to remember to SLOW DOWN. I am doing ALOT and I just kind of lost it. Ok, well off to walk. HA! Have a great weekend and enjoy that pool. Thankfully its cooled off here in the Central Valley but it’ll be HOT soon enough. ICK!
Lisa Richardson says
Oh my goodness, if it’s extended more than this, my husband might come unhinged. I wish I had your gorgeous backyard/pool space. XO
Kim @ Fierce Fashion Blog says
I am so glad you are getting to enjoy Katie! Congrats to her!!! Kids can make you laugh so hard, can’t they? Haha, so glad you are enjoying your pool–sometimes it is the simple things! Oh, yes, visit another state! Being cooped up is so hard.
Lisa Richardson says
Happy Monday Kim!!! Hope you had a great weekend! XO
Jodie's Touch of Style says
Your pool looks bigger than the one we got from Amazon. Maybe it’s just the angle. But isn’t it the best?? Seriously, it is SO worth the money.

Probably. It’s just 5′, so not that big. LOL We do love it though. I’m considering it my “practice pool”. LOL

We have a minimum of 3 more weeks of sheltering at home too. I am so jealous of that warm sunny weather! I’ve been lobbying for a pool for 16 years now but since we live right on the lake my husband really thinks I am crazy!
Lisa Richardson says
Oh wow, you must have a beautiful view. I’m super jealous of that. Happy Monday! XO
Laura says
