Summer Styling with Accessories

Hi friends! Happy Memorial Day weekend. We made it, and I’m so excited. I do however wish there was a button to slow down time for the next three months. It seems June, July and August go by at warp speed. I thought today we’d talk about summer styling with accessories. I’ve got some of my tried and true favorites, along with some new options that caught my eye. Let’s take a look at shoes, bags, hats and accessories in the way of jewelry and sunglasses.

Tory Burch Millers are my first love for summer shoes. I wear a pair almost every single day. It’s nice to have options though, and I’ve added a flatform and pair of Birkenstocks, that I’m finding myself wear more frequently than I would have thought. Last night I walked around the neighborhood in them, and my feet felt good. I also love my Reef flip flops during the summer months, and wear them as a slipper around the house…and out of the house. The Havaianas are a super popular flip flop and I’ve heard very comfy, so I think I’ll add a pair of those in this summer. And who remembers jelly shoes? They were popular when I was in high school. There are a lot of those out, and they are great for anyplace you’ll be around water. Lastly, my Dolce Vita heels are my go to for dressier looks, but also look great with straight leg and wide leg jeans.

I never go outside for any extended period of time without a hat on. If I’m going to be in the sun at the pool, beach or walking, I like for my hats to have built in UPF for added protection. Hats are not only functional, but fashionable.

It’s fun to have at least one summer bag in the closet to grab when you’re going to lunch or dinner…or wherever you want to be a little more bougie. HA! I carry a messenger bag most days, but when I go out to dinner or church I like something a little more sleek, stylish and polished. There are so many fun summer options at very reasonable price points.

And of course the finishing touch to any summer outfit is the accessories. Jewelry and yes, even sunglasses. I have the key pieces on this graphic below that are my go-to’s . I reach for these items over and over, and I think you would to if you added them to your collection.
