As you may already know I’m not a huge fan of shorts. I will wear them from time to time, but you’re more likely to find me in my typical uniform of jeans and a cute top. Today’s outfit is a perfect example of how to wear jeans in summer.
With so many options in the world of jeans these days, it’s super easy to wear them during warmer weather. There are different weights of fabric, styles and lengths.
This pair of trouser jeans from Chico’s is a perfect example of a style of jeans that will work well during the heat. The fabric is soft, a lighter weight (thicker than chambray, but lighter than some denims), slightly cropped and the wide leg allows for breathing and air circulation. I had last years version of these in two shades of blue, and I’ve done the same thing this year as well.
You can’t go wrong pairing white with denim. It’s clean and classic, and never goes out of style. I adore the eyelet this blouse is made out of and the gorgeous statement sleeves. The hem is curved so it lends itself to being worn out, but could just as easily be tucked or even tied in a knot. This blouse will also work with a skirt or a pair of pants for a business casual look. You can see an example of that here.
With Memorial Day being this weekend, I decided to add a little festive nod with my accessories. Honestly, this is how I prefer to pay homage to holidays anyway. I’m not a huge graphics or color schemed person, so a little pop of red, white and blue is just enough, I love these raffia earrings. They are super lightweight, and they come in a lot of colors. I’ve got the natural pair ordered. (They’re currently on sale)
The necklace is part of “convertible” necklace that’s made up of three necklaces that can be worn together layered, or each on their own. I really like them separate personally. The bracelet is super fun an patriotic, but let me warn you that it runs BIG. Granted, my wrists are child size, but even still I feel this one runs large.
TIPS FOR HOW TO WEAR JEANS IN SUMMER
- Choose a cropped or ankle length
- Look for soft, lighter weight denim
- Choose a straight leg, baby flare or wide leg silhouette
- Try distressed jeans
- Opt for white jeans

That eyelet blouse is so pretty and perfect for summer! Great accessories too, just ordered some earrings from Chico’s but they are on the heavy side. I think I need to exchange them for those raffia ones!
