Our family seems to go through phases where we’ll have a favorite dessert and recently Tiramisu has been the dessert of choice. I made it the last time we were in Nashville visiting our friends and they are currently here visiting us and when I texted Paul with dessert choices, he chose Tiramisu. Let me just tell you that if you are looking for a dessert that’s absolutely delicious and impressive but easy to make, look no further.
The entire recipe will be at the bottom of the post.
For this batch I made a recipe and a half of the creamy mixture and used a pack and a half of lady fingers.
Most Tiramisu recipes call for mascarpone cheese which can sometimes be a little hard to find. This recipe uses good ol’ cream cheese which is easy to get.
Cream the cream cheese with sugar until smooth.
Beat the whipping cream to stiff peaks.
Gradually fold in to cream cheese and sugar mixture.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Dissolve espresso powder in hot water and add Kahlua.
Quickly dip each side of the lady fingers in espresso mixture and line bottom casserole dish.
Cover with half of the cream cheese mixture and repeat lady finger layer.
Using a microplane, grate a piece of chocolate over the top.
You can also make it in individual servings.
Tiramisu
1 (8oz) pkg cream cheese (I use reduced fat)
1/2 c. sugar (I use Truvia)
2 cups whipping cream
1/2-3/4 T espresso powder (can substitute 1 T instant coffee granules)
apx 1/2 cut mini chocolate chips
1/2 c. hot water
1/4 c. Kahlua
1 pkg Lady Fingers
Chocolate square to grate on top for garnish
*beat cream cheese with mixer until smooth and then add sugar and cream together.
*whip whipping cream to stiff peaks and gradually fold in to cream cheese mixture
*stir in desired amount of mini chocolate chips
*combine HOT water and espresso stir until dissolved and add Kahlua
*dip half of the lady fingers quickly liquid and line dish
*cover with half of cream cheese mixture
*repeat both layers one more time
*grate chocolate on top
*cover with plastic wrap and let sit in refrigerator over night. The longer is sits, the better it gets.
Enjoy!
If you make it, I’d love to know how you like it.
Have a sweet day friends!

My husband LOVES tiramisu (I LOVE all desserts, haha). This looks so easy and yes, mascarpone is a pain to find. I always have cream cheese on hand, easy peasy. Going to need to make this soon, it looks delish!

This is an answer to my prayers! I love tiramisu and usually just end up buying it frozen because while we have mascarpone in abundance here in Houston, it is SO expensive! Can't wait to try this!

I'm so glad!!! I hope you love it as much as we do.

This looks scrumptious!! I think this would be a divine dessert with my baked pasta today! We'd make a mean team in the kitchen! I always use RF Cream Cheese and love stevia substitutes in place of sugar! Every little bit helps and I do not feel quite as quilty. Great recipe mama!!
