Happy Wednesday friends! I hope your week is going as well as mine. We are enjoying every single second of our vacation. We get up every morning and walk 4 miles, change clothes and head down to the pool/beach, come in late afternoon and clean our sandy selves up and head out for something yummy to eat and some general goofing off which may or may not include ice cream. HA! Can’t get much better than that. Katie and Luke have to leave us tomorrow, and we hate to see them go, but we’ll manage.?
As I’m sitting on our balcony typing this there are dolphins just out from our condo playing. I could watch them all day!
Okay, back to what I wanted to share with you today. Another great LOFT score for this summer. When it’s really hot out, I love to wear a light, breezy dress. You won’t be shocked to see this one has the halter neck-line that I’m currently in love with. Honestly, I’ve loved this style for years and I think one of my first dresses this style was actually from Loft about 10 years ago. I still have it because I loved it so much.
I love the periwinkle color of this dress with the little poppy flowers on it. You can morph them to be red or orange so you have accessory versatility. You do have to wear a strapless bra with it, but that doesn’t really bother me. I don’t have a particular brand I love. Being smaller chested I usually just grab one at TJMaxx or Marshalls, but I know a lot of other bloggers love the Natori brand and this one is currently 25% off at Nordstrom due to a price match.
I shared this dress on Instagram (follow me here) last week and showed how it could be worn with virtually any style sandal. You can go casual with a pair of thong sandals, a little dressier with an espadrille wedge or even a strappy sandal.
HINT: If you like just a little “control” under your dresses and something to also serve as a slip, a pair of shaping shorts do just the trick. I almost always wear a little pair under dresses like this just for a little extra confidence.
I also styled it with two different pairs of earrings. I chose a fun red tassel for a dressier look and my go to KS gold earrings for a little more casual.
My dress is in stock in limited sizes, but this little black one (AH-DORABLE) is in stock in all sizes, and if I needed one more LBD this would be it. ?

Very nice dress on you! If I’m not mistaken, you previously mentioned that you vacation in the AL Gulf Coast area??? My family does too, so I’d love to hear about places you ate at in the area. I’m always looking for a new spot to try out and definitely want to know where the good ice cream places are—ha, ha! We’ve been staying in Perdido Key the past few years — just love it down there! HI!!! Oh my goodness, we are living the life down here and loving it. You are right! We’re in Orange Beach which of course is practically Gulf Shores. So far we’ve eaten at the Gulf (good food, but even better scenery), Oyster House (twice, just be prepared for a loooong wait) Mikato (Japanese Steak House) and we had Publix spice/steam shrimp one night and ate in the condo then out for ice cream. We went to Matt’s. Again, long line and it was good, but I swear the kids bought Blue Bell Chocolate Peanut Cookie Dough the other night and it was DIVINE! (and so much cheaper…we did that again last night) We were told there’s a new ice cream place called The Yard that’s supposed to be good and of course you just can’t go wrong with DQ…which is what we all said after Matt’s. We’re going to try a new place called Fin and Fork tonight. We do like to eat…LOL Thanks for commenting. Hope you’re having a great week! XO
Awe, thanks for replying! We used to go to the Oyster House yearly when my son was little. I enjoyed all the little shops while we waited (a long time!). We’ve never been to The Gulf though—crazy, huh? We go to that same Dairy Queen too! Thanks for recommending Matt’s (have not gone there) & the new place too. My husband loves to get the Publix brand of ice cream—Moose Tracks is his favorite & it’s so much cheaper. I love the key lime pies from Publix too! Enjoy the beach!
Our vacation memories sound so similar. We’re back to reality today. I’m going to ease in by starting with the grocery. Sure wish I had a Publix. Happy Monday!!! XO

Once again I am swooning over those KS earrings! I just love the periwinkle color of this dress. Walking 4 miles on the beach then relaxing by the pool and going and getting a sweet treat sounds like a dream!! A little exercise, relaxation and fun! Perfect combo!

Carrie, you need those earrings! They are so good and also light weight. By the last two days I had to give up the walking, my plantar fasciitis was rearing it’s ugly head. I kinda enjoyed having an excuse to skip it though?. It was a wonderful vacation. I always hate to see it end. I wonder how long I could stay before I’d be ready to come home? Adorable swing dress! I love a swing dress for summer because they are so cool. I tend to steer away from halter styles because of my large chest, but maybe I should give them another chance. I enjoyed seeing the difference just changing out your sandals made with this dress!
