Hey friends and Happy Monday! I hope your weekend treated you well. It’s really so hard to imagine what so many people are going through on the East Coast, especially in the Carolina’s. We could actually use some rain and if only we could somehow even it out so one part of the country is pummeled while the other part is so dry. My heart just breaks when I see pictures of people’s homes submerged in water. I know many of you can relate and have personally endured this heartache. #prayersforthecarolinas
Y’all seemed to love the wrap dress I shared from Target last week as much as I do, so I hope you’ll be equally as excited about this sweet smocked top I ordered at the same time. I am totally gah-gah over it. Almost anything with smocking has my heart. As a matter of fact, last week when we were in Charleston there was a little parade of strollers that came down the street from what must have been a pre-school. They were full of little ones all wearing the sweetest smocked outfits. Kent and I just looked at each other and grinned from ear to ear. Smocking is something you don’t see in California and I absolutely adore seeing children dressed in it. You can take the girl out of the south, but you can’t take the south out of the girl. ❤️

You can see in this photo that the smocking is on the back too, so there’s detail coming and going. I added in my leopard (size medium) Nickel & Suede earrings. Friends, I promise if you are nervous about adding larger earrings to your jewelry box, DON’T BE! I waited for so long and now I rarely wear anything other than a big earring. Once you start, you won’t be able to stop. Check out this newer shape they now offer on their site too. Love them!
Let’s talk about Old Navy denim for a hot minute since it’s been a while. I am here to tell you that you do.not.need to pay a premium for jeans, ladies. Am I completely opposed to expensive jeans? No. If I was to find a pair that fit well and made me feel great, I’d go for it, but so far that magic pair eludes me. These Rockstar jeans are really good, and you won’t have to read too many blogs to find out I’m not alone in this camp. I’m 5’3″ and I order the “short” length. They are perfect for me. They have just the right amount of stretch allowing you to move without bagging out and they’re almost always on sale. Seriously, what more could we ask for?
Wednesday I’ll be sharing this beauty. The perfect outer layer for these days that are starting out cooler and then heating up. You’ll be seeing me wear it a lot in the coming days and it would be perfect to throw on over this outfit.

Oh, this is so perfect on so many levels! I love the color of your pretty smocked top, especially paired with your grey booties. Yes, to Rockstar jeans – they are the Best! I have them in several colors and just picked up a distressed pair. I wish smocking didn’t emphasize my chest or I would wear it more often. When the boys look back at their preschool and younger photos they just shake their heads at all the smocked clothing they wore. Haha!

After getting rockstar jeans I don’t think I will buy anything else. They just fit so well and don’t stretch out! I love that pretty smocked top on you too! It’s a gorgeous color and the length is perfect!
