I love seeing other homes all decked out for the holidays so I thought I’d give a little tour of our house with our Christmas decorations out.
When you come in our front door you walk immediately into the living room and dining room.
My carolers are some of my favorite decorations. My mom gave me these years ago for Christmas. We went together and picked out a family with hair coloring to match our family so there is a blonde mom and daughter and brunette father and son.
This reindeer is standing proudly on our kitchen table.
Of course I have to have something to bring a southern flair to Christmas and my Merry Christmas Y’all plate does just that.
When our Christmas cards arrive they go on the wall on my card holder.
(Do you spy your family up there? Leave a comment if you do 🙂
It’s filled up a lot more in the last two days.
Now that most people send cards with pictures on them (which I LOVE) I don’t want to throw them away. I came across this idea a couple of years ago on Pinterest and now I do this with previous years cards and they are on the coffee table to look through and reminisce.
My mom also gave me over the period of a lot of years a collection of Department 56 Villages. I have the North Pole set. I used to display the entire thing on a table my dad built especially for it, but I don’t have a place to use it in our current house so I just use a few of my favorite pieces.
I replace most of my usual book case items with Christmas things.
I’m also so happy with how the shelves looks since I painted them white versus how they were before in these two pictures from 2 years ago.
Santa with his “nice” list was my first Santa…given to me by who else, my mom. Are you getting the impression if it weren’t for her I might not have any Christmas decorations?
She had a nice collection of Santa’s for herself and decided quite a few years ago to get rid of them so being the good daughter I am, I took them off her hands and now they reside on my bookcases.
I love my Nutcrackers.
The tall one my cousin gave me one year and Benny picked out the smaller one at Target in 2003 and gave it to me. It makes my heart happy every time I get it out.
And of course my coffee or any other hot drink tastes better in one of my Christmas mugs.
My parents arrived yesterday and I finally got all my cards addressed and Katie is going to take them to the post office for me today and buy stamps. Hallelujah, I’m so happy to be done with those.
Hope you’re having a wonderful week and not feeling stressed.

Your home is beautiful! How did you do the red and white chevon in your bookcases? I want to do something to update a China cabinet and this caught my eye. Have a wonderful Christmas with your family.

Oh thank you, Wendy! It's so easy. I did wrapping paper (folded over and taped on the back) on poster board and taped it in the back of the bookcases. Merry Christmas to you too!!!?
