It’s finally cooled off here in California, and by cooled off I mean it’s in the 50’s. You’d think for a girl who spent THREE WINTERS (that how we measured time???) in Minnesota with sub-zero temps I’d be like, “wow, it’s 50 degrees” but I’m here to tell ya’ you get turned into a cold wimp fast. Anyhoo, now all I want to be is cozy. I wore this to the airport when we picked up the kids and Katie L❤VED it. As soon as she saw me she told I looked cute. I always feel like I’ve hit a major score when my college age daughter tells me an outfit is cute.

This was the base of the outfit and is about as comfortable as you can get. The tunic is from Loft’s Lou & Grey Signature Soft collection and they are just that…oh so SOFT. These leggings are my favorite and I’ve been wearing them for years. I have them in grey also. They are from Soma and have a nice wide waistband for tummy control and who doesn’t like a little of that?!?! I finally broke down this year and bought these Sam Edelman Leopard flats I’d been drooling over for the last year and I’m wearing them A LOT. They are in a regular rotation with my Lucky booties and now my Frye riding boots which would also look cute with this combo.

I added a blanket scarf to it and loved what it brought to the party. Kent on the other hand just looked at me and said, “that’s a lot of fabric”.

Sheaffer over at Sheaffer Told Me To suggested cutting your scarf in half diagonally to get rid of some of the bulk and then you get two scarves for the price of one. I haven’t had the guts to take my scissors to my brand new scarf, but I did find some blanket scarves in the dollar spot at Target for $7 a while back (that look identical) and I’m thinking I’ll try it with one of those. I’ll keep you posted.

What I failed to take a picture of was the 3rd layer of this outfit which was a red puffer vest and the crowing touch. The mix of red, plaid and leopard was absolute perfection.

O how I wish I’d remembered to grab a picture of that…next time I will, because you can bet there will be a next time!
Happy Wednesday friends!

Super cute! I just love a black base and those lou & grey tunics are sooooo soft! Tip on cutting your scarf in half…use pinking shears instead of regular scissors. It works great though and I need to go ahead and break down and do all of mine. In Texas that is the only way I'm getting wear out of them!

Thanks Shelly! Good to know about the pinking shears too. My daughter will be thrilled if I cut them in half???
