Holy October Batman…this month has flown by. I guess that’s what happens when you are traveling for half of the month.
I can’t believe Halloween is Monday!
#andallthelittlekidsareready
Well the last Wednesday of the month brings with it “What’s Up Wednesday” and the chance to find out what’s new in blog-land, so let’s link up with Mel, Shay and Sheaffer and find out “What’s Up”
Here’s what you’ll find out.
What we’re eating this week…
That’s a great question. Since I’ve been out of town for almost two weeks and just got back last night, your guess is as good as mine.

Kent told me he almost opened the fridge and took a picture to send me with the caption
“Come home”
hahahahahahaha
What I’m reminiscing about…
Honestly, you’d think after just spending a week at home with my parents that I’d be reminiscing about all sorts of things but I’m really focused on the present. I’ve got a lot to get done and all I can really think is…the holidays are coming, the holidays are coming.
What I’m loving…
The cooler temps. I’m finally able to wear some my fall clothes, sweaters, and booties…WHICH I LOVE. I took my booties on my trip and I swear I wore them almost every day.
Of course one of the first times I wore them it rained and the toes got water stained. (as seen above) I wet them a little more with a damp washcloth and then dried them as much as I could with a dry washcloth and was able to blend it into the toe. Now they look like they are slightly burnished and no one is the wiser.
What we’ve been up to…
I don’t think I even have to tell you this one.

What I’m dreading…
I both look forward to and dread the holidays at the same time. I have a love/hate relationship with decorating. The remainder of the year is just going to fly by and that makes me both happy and sad. It gives us more opportunities to see the kids and my family, but it also means another year will draw to a close.
What I’m working on…
I’ve got several projects on my “to do” list from painting a chest of drawers and an armoire to getting Christmas shopping done to thinking about decorating to getting ready for Thanksgiving. I’m all over the place as to what to do first.
What I’m excited about…
THANKSGIVING
Katie and Benny will be here and Katie is bringing at least one friend (Cassie) and maybe another. It’s going to be so fun to have a house full of kiddos.
What I’m watching/reading…
I have to confess that I’ve never read an entire book in one day, until yesterday that is. I had 2 flights to get me back across the country and so I had about 6ish hours of time to read. I had picked up a book before I left Nashville to have while traveling but had barely made a dent in it.
I figured out after I read it that it’s the second in a trilogy so of course now I’ve got to find the first and last and read them too. I liked it. (YAY) There are A LOT of characters written about and it took me a while to get them all straight, but I finally did and once that happened I was able to watch it play out in my mind. This book is all about an extended family and it reminds me slightly of Chesapeake Shores if any of you have been watching it on Hallmark. (if you haven’t, you might give it a try…we really like it)
What I’m listening to…
Silence.
It’s early morning and my body clock is on East Coast time but I’m back on the West Coast. It’ll take a few days to get back to my normal schedule.
What I’m wearing…
I finally got to wear my new Free People “sweatshirt” I purchased before my trip. It’s not really a sweatshirt but it’s the perfect weight, soft, comfy, roomy…all good things.
What I’m doing this weekend…
I have absolutely no idea.
HAHAHA
What I’m looking forward to next month…
Having these 2 college kids home for a week and celebrating Thanksgiving with them.
What else is new…
I started using my Lash Boost last night and can’t wait to watch my eyelashes get thicker and longer.
#yesplease
Lash Boost launches to the public on November 2nd and it’s going to go like hot cakes.
Contact me to get your own and watch your lashes become longer and thicker right before your own eyes.

BONUS question
What is your favorite Halloween/memory/picture…
Oh how I wish the digital age had arrived a little earlier. Most of my photos from when my kids were little were made on film (full disclosure – even when the digital age did arrive, it took me a while to get on board and I continued using my old standard 35mm camera…I don’t like change)
Every Halloween when they were little our neighborhood had a pizza party and parade with all the kids in costumes around the neighborhood streets. My friend Cindi and I were in charge of the pizza party for several years.
When the kids were really little I always made their costumes, but once Benny particularly got into race car drivers and ninjas we bought those.

Benny’s 1st Halloween
I told y’all in this post my love for M&M’s runs deep. Benny’s first Halloween costume (I made) was a blue M&M.
Cutest little Pooh (made by me)
And I just love this one where he’s trying his hardest to reach the doorbell

Power Ranger and bunny

Benny has always LOVED having his picture made…NOT!!!
This clown costume was mine when I was a kid. My mom made it and saved it. Now I have it and maybe someday my grandchild will wear it.
The Hannah Montana wig has come in really handy for Halloween quite a few times.
Well that just turned into a fun little walk down memory lane. Don’t you just love the precious little ones that come to your door dressed up? We sure do and I can’t wait to have grand-babies to build new Halloween memories with…BUT NOT YET 😉
