My love for Free People is no secret. Their clothes are fun and relaxed and have cute details. I hate going out somewhere and seeing the same shirt I have on walk by on someone else. Don’t you? I mean how many times have you worried about showing up somewhere and finding your “twin” there. I don’t usually have to worry about that with these. While I’ve only bought tops from this line, they do make all kinds of clothing and accessories.
Free People does tend to be on the pricey side, but if you find a piece you like and watch you’ll most likely be able to catch it on sale. That’s what I did with this tunic. I’d been eyeing it for quite a while and finally got a great deal. Macy’s and Nordstrom both carry this brand. Macy’s runs coupons and Nordstrom price matches, so you just have to stay on your toes.
The easy going style without being sloppy is what really appeals to me. They have a real Boho vibe and this top is fun and flirty and can be dressed up with black jeans like I’ve done or look equally as cute with a pair of distressed jeans. I added a black cami to it to keep it modest and age appropriate.
When this top arrived I immediately loved it but the sleeves were so long they came down to my fingertips. That may have been the intended fit, but I felt like a little girl in her mommies shirt. I was able to alter it myself and take about two inches off the sleeves. (they aren’t really uneven, it’s just the way it’s hanging?)
I’m so happy I had this hanging in my closet. I was trying on things to wear Saturday for Kent’s office party and nothing I had ordered was working for me. I threw this on and was good to go. I wore it with my favorite black jeans, booties (similar) and a black clutch.
