Hi friends and happy Monday! Today I’m excited to share with you a new subscription service. Chances are by now you’ve already heard of it, but I’m trying Fashom for the first time. Fashom is really making the rounds through a lot of my blogging buddies.
I’ve been intrigued with the idea of a subscription service for quite a while, but being the #controlfreak I am, I just wasn’t sure it would be for me. There are quite a few different option out there like Stitch Fix and Trunk Club, but Fashom seems to be a little more pocket book friendly.
Disclaimer: I was given credit to purchase items in return for this post, but all opinions are my own. Y’all know I’m a straight shooter?
I’m sure with all of these services you fill out a profile. I was surprised with just how thorough Fashom’s was. They asked everything from sizes you wear (as you’d expect) to hair, skin, eye color and measurements. They check your Pinterest boards and Instagram if you have it, and if you’re a blogger, they check that too to get a feel for your style. They really want to get this right.
Here’s the part I really like. You actually get to approve and pick what is sent to you in your box. Your stylist picks 8 pieces she thinks you’d like and sends them in an email for you to pick 5 for shipment. If you don’t like any of them….send them back to the drawing board. Total transparency here friends, first time out of the gate, there was only one piece I was remotely interested in, so I asked for more options. I also gave even more details about my preferences such as necklines, fabrics and even brands.
I received this adorable shift dress. There are patch pockets on the front, but you can’t even tell in the pictures. It was fully lined and I loved the cut of the neckline. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the fabric. I am not a fan of rayon/polyesters and that’s what this was made of.
Verdict: Returned
This top was one of the pieces I was most excited about. I love the color, the neckline, the embroidery and of course the fringed detail on the bottom. It would have been and easy 100 except it was (whomp-whomp) polyester. I was on the bubble of letting that slide, but ultimately just couldn’t deal.
Verdict: Returned
I’ve never made it a secret that I am not a t-shirt kind of gal. Having said that, this one almost made the cut. The color is dynamite and of course the v-neck is my fav. It has the cutest little gold pineapples, a cuffed sleeve and curved hem. The fabric was nice and thick, but I just didn’t think I’d wear it more than once or twice and I’m trying to purchase things that really make my heart sing. This one just made it hum. HA!
Verdict: Returned
DING! DING! DING! We have a WINNER!!!! This little dress checked all the boxes. Cotton? Yes thank you. Lined? You bet. Adorable details? You know it. Halter neckline? Yes ma’am, and we all know I’m a huge fan of that.
Verdict: Kept
Lastly was a cute little cami style top. Loved the colors. Burgundy and rust. Adjustable straps are always a win in my book and the fabric even though it was rayon felt more like a cotton. I’ve got quite a collection of similar tops and just didn’t need another. BTW…this was the one item that was sent in my first email that I approved.
Verdict: Returned
You can access Fashom both online or through an app on your phone. There is a $15 styling fee that is applied when you submit your request to be styled that will be applied toward the purchase of any items.
Here’s how it works:
- FILL OUT YOUR STYLE PROFILE & SUBMIT A STYLING REQUEST
- Tell us about your style, size & price preferences & then submit your request to be styled. You’ll see a styling preview within 2-3 business days.
- REVIEW YOUR SELECTED ITEMS & PICK WHAT SHIPS
- Your stylist will send you items to review. You pick 5 pieces to be shipped to your doorstep within 2 days. It’s free shipping & returns. No subscription required. If no items are picked within 2 days, your FASHOM stylist will send you their choice of 5 pieces.
- KEEP WHAT YOU LOVE & SEND BACK THE REST
- Try on your hand-selected items & keep what you love! We send you a prepaid envelope for easy returns. You have 3 days to try ‘em on. Only pay for what you keep! Give us a review and a feedback so the stylist can help you better next time.
Fashom donates $1 to Second Chance Rescue NYC for each box sold. This organization strongly aligns with FASHOM’S mission to offer clothing and apparel made with sustainable vegan materials only.
Use my referral code HERE to try Fashom for yourself. You’ll receive $10 credit and so will I, then you’ll also have your own code to share with friends.
I’m going to try again, but wait a few weeks until I get back from traveling and it’s a little closer to fall. What do you think? Are you going to try Fashom for the first time?
Have you signed up to receive my posts by email. Just scroll back up to the top and fill in the box on the left above my picture. You won’t get spammed, just an email anytime a new post is published, so you never miss out. I’d also love it if you’d follow me on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. Thanks Heather! I know, I loved that top too, but I just knew with it being poly, I wouldn’t wear it.

These are cute pieces. I wasn’t in love with all the rayon and poly in my box either. Love that striped top.

Thanks Julie! Yeah, I think you need to be really specific to avoid those fabrics.

Angie says
Love the dress, where can I get one like that?
Lisa Richardson says
Hi Angie! I couldn’t find the exact one online, but I linked some very similar by the same maker at the bottom of the post. Hope that helps.

Angie says
Love the dress!!! Where can I order one like that?
Lisa Richardson says
Hi Angie! Thanks so much. I tried to find one like it to link, but wasn’t successful. I did link some similar by the same maker on LiketoKnowit. I guess the other thing you could do is order a Fashom box and request that dress. Hope this helps.

Love love the dress you picked it looks great and I love a halter too! I am picky about fabrics as the heat here in the South is tough! I can see why polyester didn’t make the cut!

I’m in love with that dress you kept. And, I like that it is lined. And, you can’t go wrong with blue and white stripes! Ha! I am not really a big t-shirt gal either, I have some… but, not a lot. Why don’t you like rayon/polyesters? Any reason? Just curious!!

Lisa Richardson says
Thanks! It’s a keeper for sure. I’ll wear rayon, but not a huge fan and a poly blend is ok, but again, not a huge fan. They aren’t “breathable” and show spill/stains so easily.??

Laura says
My favorite piece was the tasseled sleeveless blouse, which I’m sad to read was actually polyester! It certainly didn’t look like it from the picture! And polyester?? Who even wears that anymore?!?
Lisa Richardson says
I KNOW…if it had been cotton, I would have definitely kept it because it’s adorable. I didn’t want to be sweating all over it. YUCK
XOXO
Laura says
The dress you kept is so cute! Definitely a winner! Too bad about the other items! Texture can be a big no for me too.
Lisa Richardson says
Yeah, I’m kinda a fabric snob. LOL

I gave Fashom a try too and liked the quality of the clothes for the price, but only one of the dresses worked for me, though I will give them a try again. Love both dresses they sent you, especially the one you kept – it is beautiful! Check out my review too. =)

Sarah says
Lots of outfits now are poly and rayon 🙁 all cotton material is in the minority… sometimes poly can be made well just depends. But agree, with the price, i would want to pay for good quality materials.
Thanks for linking up at what I wore Sunday. This week’s linkup is now live.
See you there.

I love that dress that you did keep, Lisa! And I really like those shades of rusty orange on you. Too bad the fabric was not to your taste! This sounds like a fun subscription service. A little different from what has been around for a while now. Thanks for linking up with me. This post will be a featured favorite on Tuesday’s #SpreadTheKindness Link Up!

I love everything you got in your box, especially the dress you kept. I own that very same pineapple tee and I bought it from JCPenney last year for around $5.00. I’m surprised you like cotton and not polyester. I think I’m the total opposite of you. I hate to iron or looking wrinkly the second I sit down or step out of a car. I won’t wear fabrics that get wrinkly.
Lisa Richardson says
Well thanks so much Amy! $5 for that tee is a real bargain!!!
