Who knew we’d end up spending most of spring in our homes? It’s made shopping, trying on, and blog posts a little more challenging. I had bought quite a few things with spring, graduation, and travel in mind, only to realize they weren’t needed. At the beginning of this whole thing I was mainly wearing leggings and sweatshirts. Of course the weather was gloomy and chilly, so getting dressed real cute wasn’t very high on my list. After a few weeks of comfy (read: slouchy) attire, it was time to get back into the groove of regular dressing. Today I’ve got a little recap of what I’ve been wearing lately.
The warmer weather we [were] having, had me pulling out some fun new pieces, like this tie dye tank. Y’all know I’m bonkers for tie-dye, and this top is so cute. These jeans are Wit and Wisdom, and the ankle length is perfect for spring and summer. These jeans are so good. They are super comfortable with the absolution stretch feature and I’m wearing them a lot.
Another one of my favorite styles is peplums. I love a good peplum. They are easy, breezy and so comfy. A v-neck is my favorite neckline, so when this on showed up on the Loft site I was super excited. I got this gray one and a white one too. [Fully stocked and 40% off] I’m wearing a small, and I’d say it’s TTS, but if you are between sizes, size up. The jeans are Loft too, but they are from last year.
This tunic from Target is perfect for this time of year. [on clearance for $16] It’s a nice thick gauzy fabric, and comes in a couple of plaid options as well as this stripe. This top is perfect for days that are warm, but not hot or cold. The jeans are also from Target. They are a great way to try the straight leg style with minimal investment.
I love this top and it’s versatility. By that I mean it can be worn tied like I have it, or untied. Every time I wear this one, I think “beach”. It’s begging to be worn on vacation. Nice and lightweight. The jeans are one of my KUT pairs. KUT jeans are currently some of my favorites.
If you want to get dressed, but feel like you’re still in your pjs, this is the outfit. These pants are flowy and so comfortable. They have a drawstring waist, and pockets. The top is linen on the front and cotton on the back. Makes me think of a mullet. Business in the front, party in the back. LOL
The temps seems to be bouncing around, as they are apt to do in the spring, so I’m not totally done with leggings and sweaters. This floral pair from Old Navy are a lot of fun. They’ve got a nice high waist, so everything stays put. The sweatshirt is one of the first things I ordered when we got “grounded”. I love the snaps on the side. Not only are they functional, but they amp it up a little. It’s super soft on the inside, and the neckline is universally flattering.
A cute cotton sweater is always a good idea. I got this one back in February because I was afraid they’d sell out. I wore this yesterday because we’re having a cool down for the next couple of weeks (sadly). Again, one of the things I love about this style is the slits on the side. If you are at all hippy (or even if you aren’t), side slits allow things to hang well. I always size down in Aerie sweaters and sweatshirts to an x-small.
I saved the best for last. This whole look is n-e-w. I just got this top in, and couldn’t wait to wear it. Is it cute or what? I love eyelet on it’s own, but paired with these darling sleeves, it’s irresistible. I’ve been trying to score a pair of “chewed hem” jeans for a while. I found these on Loft and even though they said “high waist”, I figured I’d give them a try. Well, they are super soft and stretchy.✅✅But when the description said high waist, they were not kidding. These are a good two inches above my belly button. Remember, I’m short waisted. So these are unfortunately going to make a round trip, and I am super bummed about that. If you have a long torso, give these a try. I think you’ll love them. Now for the sandals. I’ve been looking at these for a couple of years. Not even kidding. They went on sale, and after hearing Kellyann endorse them for comfort, I pulled the trigger. Again, aren’t they so cute?
