Yesterday, Kent and I drove into the city. We never drive in, we always take the BART. We figured with the pandemic, and things being virtually shut down, traffic would be light and we’d drive in for a change and just explore. We were absolutely right. It was so crazy. Traffic was incredibly light, there were places to park, and it was easy to navigate. Not at all like it normally is. We covered seeing quite a few things in only a couple of hours. Under normal circumstances, it would have taken us all day to navigate traffic and see this many things. Here’s a snapshot of our morning.
There are a several different bridges that cross the bay into the city, and we ended up crossing three different bridges. They are all huge and very impressive. This is the Oakland Bay Bridge.
We drove way up to an area called Twin Peaks that has phenomenal views.
There are a lot of places to get a good view of Alcatraz.
This was the first time we’ve driven across the Golden Gate Bridge. Going over it in a car, on a bus or a bike…it’s such a neat experience. I took a video, and then a fun little lapsed time video. I should have done the whole thing in elapsed time, because I think they are so funny, but you’ll have to watch part in real time, and part is speedy time.
We saw a windmill that’s in Golden Gate Park.
And we got to drive by the Pacific Ocean for a few minutes.
I’m sure we’ll never have the opportunity to do this so easily again…or at least I hope we won’t. LOL
Have a great day friends!

That seems like such a nice day! Glad you were able to take that opportunity for yourselves!

Thanks Laura! It was good for us to have something to do too, since we dropped the girl at the airport. XO

We’ve been saying how the light traffic is such an advantage of the whole pandemic thing. But I’ll give it up to have the hustle and bustle again.

What a lovely day trip! We’re noticing that traffic is definitely picking up around here.
Lisa Richardson says
I think it is here too, but I guess that’s good. We need to get back to normal. I’m having TJMaxx withdrawal. LOL

We really did Jill. It was so weird being over there with so few people. Wish it was like that all the time. HA

My parents actually got engaged on the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s such a cool story- and an iconic place!
