Hi friends! Memorial Day is less than two weeks away, which is the official kick off to summer. I went back through my cameral roll and found some Memorial Day outfit ideas (that aren’t shorts). I for one am not a huge fan of shorts, and if you fall into that same camp, then this post is for you. Even if you don’t, you will hopefully find a little summer inspiration.
I purchased this top from Amazon last year and it’s super lightweight and comfortable on hot days. It also layers beautifully under a white blazer. I have it on here with cropped jeans. This pair is the version Chico’s put out last year, but here’s the new version.
Here the top is again with a pair of Zenergy pants from Chico’s. I love these pants! I wore the black pair to travel to and from my parents over the weekend.
Blue and white stripes are always a good choice for Memorial Day. I’m not a huge red, white and blue themed clothing fan, but I do love navy and white or red and white together. I also like that you aren’t pigeon holed into so much of a holiday look vs. a cute summer look.
OK, every time I share this look, it’s very well received. These two pieces are from Cozy Earth, and they’re fantastic. It’s a square neck tank (that runs big, I’m in XS) and the long skirt is TTS…I’m in a medium. These two pieces are such good summer closet staples because you can use them to mix and match and make all kinds of looks. You can use my code COAST40 on the entire Cozy Earth website.
Another easy to wear, but cute look is a simple tank style dress. These little dresses are real workhorses. They come in so many colors and prints, and you can wear it out and about or as a cute swim cover making it easy to go from the pool to a restaurant to grab lunch.
You may already have some of these pieces in your own closet from previous years. Going back and looking at old pictures is a great to find a lost treasure that may be hidden in your closet. You might even find a few Memorial Day outfit ideas you’ve forgotten about.
